352 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 19, 1982 <br />APPROVE ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, <br />INC. - TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION (LINCOLNWAY EAST AND BRONSON) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the contract provided for the design <br />of a traffic signal installation by Clyde E. Williams & Associates <br />at the corner of Lincolnway East and Bronson, in conjunction with <br />the Monroe -Sample Development Project. He explained that the <br />total cost of the contract was $3,000.00, said work to be completed <br />within 30 days of receipt of a Notice to Proceed on the project. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above contract was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS <br />Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />requested Board approval for the advertising for sealed bids in <br />conjuction with the following projects: <br />Concrete Pavement Repairs - 1982 <br />Ardmore Trail Street Improvement <br />Dubail Street Bridge Rail Improvements <br />Scarification and Pavement Improvements - 1982 <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the anticipated bid date for the <br />Concrete Pavement Repairs and Ardmore Trail Improvements was <br />August 9, 1982. He advised that a bid date had not yet been <br />set for the receipt of bids for the Dubail Project and the <br />Scarification and Pavement Project. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - SNORKEL FIRE <br />APPARATUS RECONDITIONING <br />Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell requested Board approval for the <br />advertising for bids on the reconditioning of one 1961 F.W.D. 85` <br />Snorkel Fire Apparatus. Assistant Chief Richard Switalski explained <br />that the amount of $100,000.00 would be saved if the engine was <br />rebuilt rather than purchasing a new piece of equipment. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />request was approved., and a date set of August 23, 1982, for the <br />receipt of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE DISPOSAL OF UNCLAIMED BICYCLES AND OTHER PROPERTY <br />Police Chief Dan Thompson requested Board approval for the <br />disposal of unclaimed bicycles and other property at a public <br />auction to be held on Saturday, September 11, 1982, starting at <br />9:00 a.m. and concluding at 1:00 p.m., at the rear of the police <br />wing of the Municipal Services Facility. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />REQUEST REFERRED TO CLOSE ALLEYS SURROUNDING WILLIAM PENN CLUB LODGE <br />A request was received from Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., President of <br />the William Penn Club, for the closing of the alleys surrouding <br />the Club Lodge at 1024 West Indiana Avenue, in conjunction with <br />the annual picnic to be held on Saturday, July 31, 1982, commencing <br />at 12:00 noon. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review <br />and recommendation. <br />0 <br />0 <br />
