Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light-
ing, recommended the installation of handicapped parking signs at
1812 South Michigan Street on a year-round basis. In a memo to
the Board, he explained that the resident, a handicapped
individual, had previously requested the designation because of
problems encountered with snow in the winter months and the
inability of the indivudual to ambulate to the back of the
property via the alley. The Board had, as a result, approved
the recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the
installation of said signs during the winter months; however,
because of the numerous commercial establishments in the
surrounding area, parking in front of the residence was impossible
both in the winter and summer months. Upon a motion made by Mr.
Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the year-round
handicapped parking designation for 1812 South Michigan Street
was approved.
