REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 10, 1982 <br />be of a fire retardant material with adequate fire extinguishers <br />available. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the tent sale was approved subject to the filing of <br />proof of adequate liability insurance by Levy's La-Z-Boy. <br />REQUEST FOR MEMORIAL DAY PARADE REFERRED - MAY 31, 1982 <br />A request was received from the West Side Memorial Committee for <br />permission to conduct the West Side Veterans' Memorial Day Parade <br />on Monday, May 31, 1982, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the corner of <br />Olive and Ford Streets, proceeding west on Ford to Lombardy. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review <br />and recommendation. <br />APPROVE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION EMERGENCY FLASHING OPERATION - <br />STATE ROAD 2 (WESTERN AVENUE) AND OLIVE STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski explained that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Indiana Department of Highways recommended the flashing <br />of red to all approaches in the event of a need for a flashing <br />operation of the signals at the intersection. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTY - KALORAMA BETWEEN TURNOCK AND ST. LOUIS BLVD. <br />A request to hold a block party on Kalorama Street between Turnock <br />and St. Louis Boulevard on May 12, 1982, from 10:00 a.m, to <br />10:00 p.m., was recommended favorably by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request of James H. White, 717 <br />St. Louis, for the block party was approved. It was noted that <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting would deliver the barricades <br />needed to block the street. <br />APPROVE CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE - MAY 22. 1982 <br />A favorable recommendation was received from Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, for the Chet <br />Waggoner Little League Parade scheduled for Saturday, May 22, <br />1982, starting at 8:15 a.m., starting from the Knights of <br />Columbus Hall, 815 North Michigan Street; proceeding on Park <br />Lane to Lafayette; Lafayette to Navarre, west on Navarre to <br />Portage; north on Portage to Boland, east on Boland to Riverside <br />and north on Riverside to the Little League Park. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved, subject to the.filing of the <br />appropriate Certificate of Insurance. <br />APPROVE MICHIANA BLOOD DONORS' RUN MAY 23, 1982 <br />A favorable recommendation was received from the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for the annual Michiana Blood Donors' Run to be held <br />on Sunday, May 23, 1982, commencing at 9:00 a.m, in Leeper Park <br />and running northwest along Riverside Drive to Pinhook Park and <br />back. It was noted that any.changes in the proposed route would <br />be coordinated by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Traffic Division. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET A14D REQUEST TO ADVERTISE <br />FOR BIDS - PRAIRIE AVENUE GUARDRAIL <br />A title sheet for the installation of the Prairie Avenue Guardrail <br />Project at the location of Prairie Avenue and Oliver Street was <br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the title sheet was signed and a <br />request to advertise for bids on the project was approved, with a <br />bid date of June 7, 1982, established. <br />
