REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 10, 1982 <br />RATE CARD & LICENSE DISPLAY: Every taxicab shall have <br />displayed in view of all passengers a current rate card <br />receipted by the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and <br />showing its schedule of fares. The City taxicab driver's <br />license issued to the driver of each taxicab must also be <br />displayed in full view of the passengers. <br />MIRRORS: Each taxicab shall be equipped with a mirror <br />so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the <br />highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear <br />of such vehicle. <br />SAFETY BELTS: Each taxicab must be equipped with <br />safety belts for the driver and for one front seat <br />passenger. These belts must be in good repair. <br />TIRES: All solid rubber tires on taxicabs must have <br />rubber on the entire traction surface at least 1 inch <br />thick above the edge of the flange or the entire periphery. <br />GLASS: All windshields and windows in each taxicab <br />must be Tree of cracks or breaks. No signs may be placed <br />on a taxicab windshield except nontransparent ones which <br />are no larger than 4 inches square. Such signs may be <br />placed on the windows in the lower corner furthest; <br />removed from the driver's position. <br />WINDSHIELD WIPERS: Each taxicab must be equipped with <br />windshield wipers controlled by the driver. Every wind -- <br />shield wiper must be maintained in good working order, <br />OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT: Any optional equipment on a <br />taxicab must be maintained in good and safe working <br />condition and with the South Bend Municipal Code <br />Licensing Ordinance. <br />These standards have been established in accord with I.C. <br />9-8-6 governing required equipment on motor vehicles. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUMS AND CONTRACTS <br />Ms. Betsy Harriman, Community Development staff member, requested <br />Board approval of various addendums and contracts between the <br />Department of Community Development and other agencies as follows: <br />Addendum No. 1 - Southold Heritage Foundation (Rehabilitation <br />Program) The addendum provided for a time <br />extension and budget revision to increase <br />personnel costs by $94.09. <br />Addendum No. 2 - Southold Heritage Foundation (Rehabilitation <br />Program) The addendum provided for a time <br />extension for the expenditure of 1980 funds. <br />Addendum No. 3 - Bureau of Housing (Housing Inspection Program) <br />The addendum provided for a time extension <br />and a budget revision between accounts with <br />no increase in costs. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above addendums to Community Development contracts <br />were approved. <br />Contract with Neighborhood Code Enforcement for rehabilitation <br />of rental units which have been ordered by <br />Neighborhood Code Enforcement and not complied <br />with by the property owner. Budget: $25,000.00 <br />
