JOSEPH ST.
Mr. Leszczynski advised that a request had been received from
Emillie Tjaden, 3423 South St. Joseph Street, at the Board meeting
of April 19, 1982, for permission to locate a motor home in her
driveway for a 120-day period while rehabilitation work was done
on her home damaged by fire on March 26, 1982. The matter had
been referred to the Building Department and the Neighborhood
Code Enforcement Office for review and recommendation. Mr. Hill
explained that a long-term policy has been in existence providing
for the review of these types of requests by the Board of Public
Works, and, although the Building Department appeared to have
no objection to the use of the temporary structure provided all
wiring met code requirements, in this particular case, it
appeared to constitute a zoning violation under which the Board
had no jurisdiction or authority to act. He stated that what
was being requested was the equivalent of a zoning variance
which would fall under the jurisdiction of the Zoning Board of
Appeals. Based on this fact, Mr. Hill made a motion to deny the
request. Mr. Kernan seconded the motion and it carried.
APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT - SALE OF 1004 SORIN STREET
Mr. Leszczynski stated that, in accordance with the bid received
on December 21, 1981, from Mr. Dell Owens in the amount of
$310.00 for the purchase of the city -owned lot located at 1004
Sorin Street, the purchase agreement was being submitted for
Board execution.
