Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the bid of Sutphen Corpora- <br />tion was rejected. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Chief's Office <br />for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS SALE OF CITY -OWNED 'PROPERTY <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the sale of city - <br />owned property located at 125 East Dayton and 620 Clinton Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Alfred Bolden, Sr. City's offering price for property <br />129 East Dayton Street at 125 East Dayton: $340.00 <br />South Bend, Ind. 46613 Bid submitted: 250.00 <br />It was noted that Mr. Bolden is an abutting property owner, and, upon <br />that basis, his bid of $250.00, although not equal to the city's <br />offering price, was accepted and the matter referred to the Legal <br />Department for drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement. <br />Mark Nelund City's offering price for property <br />503 East Colfax Ave. at 620 Clinton Street: $210.00 <br />South Bend, Ind. Bid submitted: 211.00 <br />It was noted that Mr. Nelund had recently purchased the property at <br />618 Clinton Street and was in the process of moving a home onto the <br />two lots. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the bid of Mr. Nelund in the amount of $211.00 was <br />accepted and the matter referred to the Legal Department for <br />drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement. <br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSED ALLEY VACATION - BRENTWOOD ESTATES 4TH ADDITION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the public hearing scheduled on the <br />proposed vacation of the first east -west alley south of Lincolnway <br />West running east from Ryer Street to the first intersecting north - <br />south alley for a distance of 120', in Brentwood Estates 4th Addition, <br />had been held on April 19, 1982. At that time, an objection to the <br />vacation was raised by a property owner of the Lincolnwood Motel, <br />3300 Lincolnway West. As a result of Mr. Szabo's concern over <br />access to his property, the Board conducted a site visit and <br />delayed action on the matter to this date. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the public <br />hearing.was officially closed. Mr. Kernan made a motion that, on <br />the basis of the current use of the property by the petitioner and <br />the Lincolnwood Motel and based on the fact that the vacation of the <br />alley would not negatively affect emergency service to that area, a <br />favorable recommendation be forwarded to the Common Council for <br />vacation of the alley. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT AND ADDENDUMS <br />Mrs. Colleen Rosenfeld, Director of the Community Development Depart- <br />ment, submitted a contract for Board approval between the Community <br />Development Department and the Department of Economic Development <br />and Redevelopment for completion of payments to contracts for work <br />done on the First Bank Project in the amount of $39,958.00. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />contract was approved. <br />The following addendums to previously approved contracts were also <br />submitted for Board execution: <br />
