271 J 1 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 26, 1982 Ill./Indiana Truck & Equipment Bid was signed by N. H. Palmer, 7128 Barry Avenue non -collusion affidavit was in Rosemont, Illinois order, and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Two Seagrave Model HB50DF 1,500 GMP custom triple combination fire pumper $299,552.00 Miscellaneous equipment (optional) 18,040.00 Mrs. Pfotenhauer advised that the bid of Illinois/Indiana Truck & Equipment was accompanied by a 10% bid bond drawn on an out-of- state surety. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Illinois/Indiana Truck & Equipment was given a 48-hour period of time in which to submit the proper bid security. Shamrock Ford Truck Sales, Inc. 4707 Western Avenue South Bend, Ind. 46619 Bid was signed by Brad Tinkham, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Two 1982 Spartan Model CFC2000 fire truck chassis with Universal apparatus 308,033.14 Research Emergency Supply, Inc. Bid was signed by Ron Ewy, non- 1408 Elwood Avenue collusion affidavit was in order, South Bend, Ind. 46628 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Two Peter Pirsch Model 88H 1,500 GPM two -stage pumping engine with Pirsch chassis 267,337.84 (Piscellaneous optional equipment not included - various additions for equipment not totaled) Midwest Fire and Safety Equipment Bid was signed by Thomas Frederick, 1605 Prospect St., non -collusion affidavit was in Indianapolis, Ind. 46203 order, and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Two Midwest -Emergency One triple combination fire firefighting apparatus, Model Sentry IV 3051920.02 (Miscellaneous optional equipment not included - various additions and deductions for equipment not totaled) Fessco Fire & Safety Equipment Bid was signed by T. W. Spenner, 1441 South llth St. non -collusion affidavit was.in Niles, Michigan 49120 order, and a certified check in the amount of $29,000.00 was submitted. Two 1,500 GPM Class "A" pumpers mounted on Duplex chassis 265,016.00 Miscellaneous equipment (optional) 22,002.00 Mrs. Pfotenhauer explained that the bid of Sutphen Corporation, 7000 Columbus -Marysville Road, Amlin, Ohio, did not contain any bid security. A representative from the company advised that he had not had time to obtain the bond from an Indiana surety since he had just found out the bond from his insurance company had not arrived for inclusion in his bid. He felt that, if given a 48- hour time period, he would be able to comply. Mrs. Pfotenhauer and Mr. Hill explained that the bid requirements were mandated by state law and since no bid security at all, either from an out-of- state or Indiana surety, had been submitted with the bid, the Board would have no alternative but to reject the bid. Mrs. Pfotenhauer advised that the Board's policy concerning the appropriate bid bond was to allow the bidders a 48-hour time period to submit the proper bid security in the event out-of-state surety was provided, and, only in those cases, are extensions of
