Spenner, <br />1441 South llth St. non -collusion affidavit was.in <br />Niles, Michigan 49120 order, and a certified check in <br />the amount of $29,000.00 was <br />submitted. <br />Two 1,500 GPM Class "A" pumpers mounted on <br />Duplex chassis 265,016.00 <br />Miscellaneous equipment (optional) 22,002.00 <br />Mrs. Pfotenhauer explained that the bid of Sutphen Corporation, <br />7000 Columbus -Marysville Road, Amlin, Ohio, did not contain any <br />bid security. A representative from the company advised that he <br />had not had time to obtain the bond from an Indiana surety since <br />he had just found out the bond from his insurance company had not <br />arrived for inclusion in his bid. He felt that, if given a 48- <br />hour time period, he would be able to comply. Mrs. Pfotenhauer <br />and Mr. Hill explained that the bid requirements were mandated by <br />state law and since no bid security at all, either from an out-of- <br />state or Indiana surety, had been submitted with the bid, the <br />Board would have no alternative but to reject the bid. Mrs. <br />Pfotenhauer advised that the Board's policy concerning the <br />appropriate bid bond was to allow the bidders a 48-hour time <br />period to submit the proper bid security in the event out-of-state <br />surety was provided, and, only in those cases, are extensions of <br />
