270 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />ARRIL 26, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, April 26, 1982, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Carolyn Pfotenhauer. <br />MINUTES OF PP.EVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the April 19, 1982, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, execution of a Purchase Agreement for the sale of city - <br />owned property located at 1004 Sorin Street was added to the agenda, <br />following action on the location of a temporary mobile home at 3423 <br />S. St. Joseph Street. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE PUMPING APPARATUS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for <br />the purchase of two 1,500 GPM triple combination pumping fire <br />apparatus. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Quality Fire Trucks, Inc. Bid was signed by John 111. Gerhold, <br />737 East Murry St. non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Indianapolis, Ind. 46227 order, and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Two 1,500 GPM triple combination pumping fire <br />apparatus - Duplex D-350 94" custom contour <br />chassis $277,681.08 <br />Miscellaneous equipment (optional) 17,864.67 <br />Hoosier Fire Equipment, Inc. Bid was signed by Nick D. Swartz, <br />P. 0. Box 410 non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />Valparaiso, Ind. 46383 and a 10io bid bond was submitted. <br />Two American LaFrance 1,500 GPM Century custom <br />pumpers (miscellaneous optional equipment not <br />included - various additions and deductions <br />for equipment not totaled 288)644.00 <br />Michiana Mack, Inc. Bid was signed by Ronald Delcamp, <br />2802 Home Street non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />Mishawaka, Ind. 46545 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Two Mack CF612F(15) 294,430.00 <br />(Miscellaneous optional equipment not included - <br />various additions and deductions for equipment <br />not totaled <br />Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. & Bid was signed by Dennis Miller, <br />Miller Safety non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />5012 Buffalo Court and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />One Pierce Arrow 1,500 GPM Pumper 137,396.00 <br />Deduct from total of two pumpers if second <br />unit is ordered 2,000.00 <br />Miscellaneous equipment (optional) 18,017.00 <br />
