244 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 22, 1982 <br />REQUEST OF BROADWAY CHRISTIAN PARISH FOR ROAD RUN <br />A similar request from the Broadway Christian Parish for permission <br />to conduct a third annual Human Race in conjunction with the YWCA <br />to be held on Saturday, October 23, 1982, starting at the parish <br />and utilizing Broadway Street to Franklin, Franklin to Ewing, Ewing <br />to Gertrude and other surrounding streets in the Rum Village area <br />with the race finishing in.Rum Village Park, was received. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recom- <br />mendation. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following applications for Rubbish and Garbage <br />Removal Licenses were approved: <br />Secondhand Dealer's — Charles Wheatley <br />(Century Center) <br />Rubbish & Garbage Removal - Joseph Morrow & Sons <br />701 E. Howard <br />Oscar Cobb, Sr. <br />1221 Campeau <br />Elson Shelton <br />922 N. Olive <br />City of South Bend (12) <br />It was noted that favorable inspections from Loren Dyas of the <br />Solid Waste Bureau had been submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the application of the Charles Wheatley Antique Shows, <br />Inc., for a Secondhand Dealer's License at Century Center was <br />approved. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the certificate of insurance for St. Joseph Valley <br />Structural Steel Corporation for work performed on the First Bank <br />Center Project was accepted and filed. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: <br />Georgia Zehender, 609 Coronation Gardens, S. <br />Mrs. Philip R.
