Carlisle <br />Vehicle <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />Olds 98 <br />$60.80 <br />Ford Elite* <br />60.80 <br />75.00 <br />Lincoln Continental <br />60.80 <br />Dodge Van <br />60.80 <br />$175.00 <br />Volkswagen <br />50.80 <br />50.00 <br />Ford Station Wagon <br />60.80 <br />Gremlin <br />50.80 <br />Ford Galaxie <br />60.80 <br />International Cargostar* 60.80 <br />Studebaker Cruiser <br />5.00 <br />Cadillac <br />60.80 <br />Volkswagen <br />50.00 <br />Theodore Kieffer <br />17700'Woodthrush <br />South Bend, Ind. <br />$41.00 <br />*Subsequent to legal advertising and the mailing of proposal forms <br />for the sale of the above vehicles, the Neighborhood Code Enforce- <br />ment Office advised the Board of Works that the Ford Elite and <br />International Cargostar had been claimed and released and, there- <br />fore, were no longer available for sale. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the high bids of Richard Heim in the amount of $175.00 for the <br />Dodge Van and the high bids of Hurwich Iron for the Olds 98, Lincoln <br />Continental, Volkswagens, Ford Station Wagon, Gremlin, Ford Galaxie, <br />Studebaker Cruiser and Cadillac in the total amount of $460.60 were <br />approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR FIRE ALARM ASSISTANCE - UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME <br />Assistant Fire Chief Richard Switalski requested Board approval on <br />a contract between the city and the University of Notre Dame for <br />fire alarm assistance for the period of February 9, 1982, through <br />February 8, 1983. He explained that the current contract, which <br />expires on February 9, 1982, provides that the University will <br />pay to the city the amount of $110.00 per month for monitoring <br />the alarms at the University which would come into the city's <br />alarm department for dispatching. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the contract was approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR CONSULTING SERVICES - ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that Chief Electrical Inspector Charles <br />Crabill would be retiring from the city's Building Department on <br />January 29, 1982, and the city was desirous in retaining Mr. <br />Crabill on a consulting basis. He stated that approval was needed <br />on a six-month contract at the rate of $7.28 per hour, not to <br />exceed 160 hours in any one month. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the contract was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - <br />LaFREE EXCAVATING (PRAIRIE AVENUE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT)'' <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that LaFree Excavating had submitted Change <br />Order No. 1 (final) on the Prairie Avenue Sanitary Sewer Project <br />in the amount of an increase of $17,840.00. He stated that a <br />majority of the increase was necessitated because the replacement <br />of a considerable amount of fill was needed because unsuitable soil <br />was found. He advised that, including the above change order, the <br />total project cost was $58,130.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Change Order <br />and Project Completion Affidavit were approved, subject to'the <br />filing of the required Maintenance Bond, said maintenance agree- <br />ment to run for a period of three years. <br />r <br />
