19 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULX 27, 1981 <br />Lease/Purchase - three-year semi annual payment $ 37,141.19 <br />Lease/Purchase —five-year semi annual payment 25,079.20 <br />Interest rate: 6.5% prime (three-year) <br />7% prime (five-year) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Street Department for <br />review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - PICK-UP TRUCKS (BUREAU OF TRAFFIC & LIGHTING) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening bids for the purchase <br />of three one-half ton pick-up trucks and -one 1-t.on pick-up truck or <br />one three-quarter ton van for the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly read: <br />Gurley-Leep Dodge Bid was signed by Eric D. Vyverman, <br />�. 225 South Lafayette non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />�. South Bend, Indiana and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Three (3) 2 Ton Pick -Ups with 8' Box $ 21,306.00 <br />One (1) 1 Ton Club Cab and Chassis (Alt. A) 8,987.00 <br />�[ One (1) 3/4 Ton Van (Alt. B) 8,033.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above bid was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS AND BID AWARD - BENDIX DRIVE TRACK RELOCATION PROJECT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening bids for construction <br />of the Bendix Drive Track Relocation Project, including removal of <br />South Shore tracks, asphalt widening and overlay of Bendix Drive <br />from Westmoor to Lincolnway West, concrete curbs and underground <br />signal construction. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which. <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />H.R.-D. Corporation Bid was signed by Harold E. Slutsky, <br />1216-18 W. Washington non -collusion affidavit was in <br />South Bend, Indiana order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />$292,514.10 <br />Walsh & Kelly, Inc. <br />24358 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />$298,621.50 <br />LaFree Excavating, Inc <br />11252 W. Third Street <br />Osceola, Indiana <br />$275,474.90 <br />Bid was signed by Thomas 0. Walsh, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Richard LaFree, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />Arco Engineering Construction Bid was signed by William Zirkle, <br />705 S. Beiger Street non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Mishawaka, Indiana order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />$287,755.00 <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Bid was signed by Richard D. Ruhlman, <br />P. 0. Box 1775 non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Indiana and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />$273,722.90 <br />
