20 REGULAR MEETING JULY 27, 1981 Mr. Leszczynski noted that the above bids were submitted for Alternate A of the project. Following a review of the above bids, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the low bid of Rieth-Riley Construction Company be awarded in the amount of $273,722.90, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried. OPENING OF BIDS - CONCRETE ALLEY CONSTRUCTION (HARTER HEIGHTS 2ND ADDITION) This was the date set for receiving and opening bids for concrete construction of an alley in Harter Heights 2nd Addition bounded by Angela, St. Joseph, Pokagon and Foster Streets, approximately 270 feet in length and 12 feet in width, in accordance with Barrett Law procedure. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Box 577 LaPorte, Indiana $10,161.80 Arco Engineering 705 S. Beiger Mishawaka, Indiana $ 9,977.00 Bid was signed by Paul Hundt, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a cashier's check in the amount of $438.75 was submitted. Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Richard D. Ruhlman, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by Kenneth A. McIntyre, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by A.D. Blackburn, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid was signed by William Zirkle, non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3510, 1981 - CONFIRMED (LOUIE'S TUX SHOP) The public hearing on the vacation of the first alley south of Lincolnway West, running westerly from Chapin to Cushing Street, was continued to this meeting of the Board in order to give the Board members an opportunity to view the alley and talk with affected property owners, since it appeared there was objection to the alley vacation at the Board meeting on July 13, 1981. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board members had inspected the alley in question, and he asked if there were any additional comments to be made on the proposed vacation.
