REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 27. 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m., on Monday, July 27, 1981, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present <br />was Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the minutes of the July 20, 1981, regular meeting of the <br />Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEM STRICKEN AND NEW ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the request to advertise for lease/purchase of bids was <br />stricken from the agenda, and a request from Medow Leasing for a <br />temporary sales office was added immediately following approval of <br />the Community Development contracts. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - STREET DEPARTMENT TRUCK CHASSIS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening bids for the lease/ <br />purchase of three single -axle dump truck chassis and two tandem -axle <br />dump truck chassis for the Street Department. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids <br />were opened and publicly read: <br />Western International Trucks <br />4849 W. Western <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by M.A. Grady, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order, and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Three (3) International Single Axle Dump Truck Chassis $105,000.00 <br />Two (2) International Tandem Axle Dump Truck Chassis 91,250.00 <br />Less trade-ins of $32,750.00 (5 vehicles) <br />Total 163,500.00 <br />Lease/Purchase - three-year semi annual payment $ 32,747.75 <br />Lease/Purchase - five-year semi annual payment 22,561.40 <br />Interest rate: 16% simple interest <br />------------------------------------------------------------------ <br />Shamrock Ford Truck Sales, Inc.
