14 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 20, 1981 <br />APPROVAL OF TITLE SHEET - CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE <br />ALLEY (HARTER HEIGHTS) <br />The title sheet for construction of a concrete alley in Harter <br />Heights 2nd Addition bounded by Angela, Pokagon, Foster and St. <br />Joseph Streets, as petitioned by residents under the Barrett Law <br />program was submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the title sheet <br />was approved. It was noted that bids for the project would be <br />received and opened by the Board at its meeting to be held on July <br />27, 1981. <br />APPROVAL OF TITLE SHEET AND REQUEST TO ADVERTISE TO RECEIVE <br />BIDS - CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER (OLD CLEVELAND ROAD) <br />A title sheet for the construction of sanitary sewers, lift station <br />and force main on Old Cleveland Road from Bendix Drive West to U. S. <br />31 was submitted for Board approval. In accordance with the title <br />sheet, Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board was also being requested <br />to approve legal advertising in order to receive bids on the project <br />at the Board meeting to be held on July 27, 1981. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the title sheet <br />and request to advertise forbids were approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE TO RECEIVE BIDS - SALE OF <br />CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (1806 SOUTH JACKSON STREET) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the homestead property owned by the Bureau <br />of Housing and located at 1806 South Jackson Street had been reviewed <br />by the necessary city agencies and approved for sale in accordance <br />with an offering price established of $522.50. He stated that three <br />different property owners had expressed an interest in purchasing the <br />vacant lot and, in accordance with the Municipal Code regulating the <br />sale of city -owned property, sealed bids for its purchase in an <br />amount not less than the offering price must be received by the <br />Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the Board authorized the advertising for sealed bids, <br />said bids to be received by the Board at its meeting to be on <br />August 17, 1981. <br />REQUEST TO PROVIDE MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT ON RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />Ms, Mikki Dobski, River Bend Plaza Coordinator, requested permission <br />to allow musical entertainment on Robertson's Stage on River Bend <br />Plaza by the musical group "Eice", on Saturday, August 8, 1981, from <br />2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In her memo to the Board, Ms. Dobski requested <br />that crowd control be handled by the Police Department. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the request was referred to Patrick McMahon, on behalf of the South <br />Bend Downtown Council, and the Police Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR INTERSECTION FUND SOLICITATION (AMERICAN CANCER ',SOCIETY,) <br />A request was received from Michael Barnes on behalf of the American <br />Cancer Society for permission to conduct fund solicitations on <br />August 15, 1981, at the following intersections within the City of <br />South Bend: <br />South Bend Avenue at Eddy Bendix Dr, at Lincolnway West <br />Eddy at Jefferson Main at Jefferson <br />Northside Blvd. at Sample U.S. 33 South at Chippewa <br />Ironwood at Lincolnway East Ironwood at Calvert <br />Ireland and Miami Miami at Ewing <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />[1 <br />1 <br />
