416 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 31, 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE <br />FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS FOR VOTING PURPOSES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. C.J. Pajakowski, Chairman, St. <br />Joseph County Democratic Central Committee requested permission <br />to use the following public buildings for voting purposes on <br />General Election Day, November 8, 1983: <br />#2 Fire Station <br />#3 Fire Station <br />#5 Fire Station <br />#6 Fire Station <br />#7 Fire Station <br />#9 Fire Station <br />#10 Fire Station <br />Potawatomi Greenhouse <br />Pinhook Pavalion <br />110 E . Marion <br />1305 McKinley Ave. <br />2221 Prairie Ave. <br />4302 Western Ave. <br />1616 Portage Ave. <br />2520 Mishawaka Ave. <br />308 W. Ireland Road <br />2105 Mishawaka Ave. <br />2801 Riverside Dr. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried the above request was approved. <br />PETITION FOR ONE-WAY PARKING ON EAST MINER STREET REFERRED <br />Mr. Frank L. Bass, 1111 East Miner Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />presented to the Board a Petition signed by forty-seven (47) <br />individuals requesting one-way parking on East Miner Street. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above Petition was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING OF REVENUE SHARING <br />FUNDS - OFFICE AUTOMATION EQUIPMENT ($75,000.00) <br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz requested Board approval <br />for an intended use hearing on the following proposed expenditure <br />of revenue sharing funds: <br />Office Automation Equipment $75,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the request was approved and a date of November 14, <br />1983, was set for the public hearing on the intended use of <br />the revenue sharing funds. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO DENY TAXI DRIVER'S LICENSES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Joseph E. Kernan, City Controller <br />submitted his recommendation for denial of the taxi driver's <br />license applications of the following two (2) applicants: <br />Allen L. Colley <br />2715 West Ewing <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Robert N. McCammon <br />914 Bellevue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />The recommendation for denial is based on the Police Department's <br />investigation and subsequent recommendation for denial because <br />incomplete information was provided on the applications. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, Mr. Kernan's recommendation to deny the licenses was <br />approved. Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. It was noted <br />that the above referred to applicants will be notified of the <br />denial and given the opportunity to request a public hearing <br />on the matter. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
