J J REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 19,- 1983 seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Petition was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for its review and recommendation. PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT INSTALLATION REFERRED Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board.a Petition for Street Light Installation signed by eight (8) property owners indicating their request that a.street light be installed in the area of 1640 North O'Brien Street. The Petition states that extreme darkness due to lack of sufficient street lighting plus density of trees has made this area an ideal place for burglarizing porches and cars parked in .the street. The Petition further stated that most of the property owners who have signed the Petition have been victimized at least once, and some several times. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Petition.was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS - HAZ-MAT EQUIPMENT,. ISLAND PARK REPAIR, PARKING GARAGES, AND 1983 POLICE AND FIRE PENSIONS - $1,795,000.00 Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz requested Board approval for an intended use hearing on the following proposed expenditure of revenue sharing funds: Haz-Mat Equipment $ 30,000.00 Island Park Repair 65,000.00 Parking Garages 100,000_.00 1983 Police & Fire Pensions 1,600,000.00 TOTAL $1,795,000.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved and a date of October 3, 1983 set for the public hearing on the intended use of the revenue sharing funds. REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER.TO CONDUCT 10K SPORTSMED ROADRACE - OCTOBER 2, 1983 REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Mark J. Neff, Director, Sports Medicine/Health Awareness, St. Joseph's Medical Center, 811 East Madison Street, P.O. Box 1935, South Bend, Indiana, in conjunction with St. Joseph Bank, the WNDU Stations and Kangaroos Shoes respectfully requested permission for the running of the third annual Sportsmed 10K roadrace. The race is scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 1983. The 10K is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m, with the Fun Run to begin immediately following at 2:05 p.m. The route starts at Jeffexson.Boulavard to Notre Dame Avenue, left on Wayne, right at Francis to Northside to finish line. The route to be utilized is the same route used last year for this event. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for.review and recom- mendation. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED (1629 SOUTH WILLIA4 STREET) In a letter to the Board, Lucio Ortiz, 3719 West Ford Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated that he recently purchased Lot #'s 8, 9 and 10 which are located at 1633 South William Street at Dubail and he is interested in purchasing the city -owned lot #11 at 1629 South William Street.
