<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT. MIAMI/
<br />IRELAND RETENTION BASIN REPAIRS (L. WOLFF FARMS, INC.)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Public Construction, recommended the Board award
<br />the low bid of L. Wolff Farms, Inc., 2017 W. 1000 S., Union
<br />Mills, Indiana, in the amount of $42,513.00. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />advised that bids for this project were opened on September
<br />12, 1983. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that in accordance
<br />with the award of this bid, a contract in said amount was
<br />being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the
<br />above bid was awarded and the contract approved subject to
<br />the filing of the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond
<br />and Labor and Materials Payment Bond.
<br />AWARD BID ..AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - CREST
<br />MANOR RETENTION POND REPAIRS PROJECT (ECK CONSTRUCTION)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Public Construction, recommended the Board award
<br />the low bid of .Eck Construction, 4320 Cottage Avenue,
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana in the amount of $21,100.00. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski further advised that bids for this project were
<br />opened on September 12, 1983. Mr. Leszczynski further
<br />advised that in accordance with the award of this bid, a
<br />contract in said amount was.being submitted for Board
<br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bid was awarded and the
<br />contract approved. Accordingly, the appropriate insurance,
<br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond
<br />submitted by Eck Construction were filed.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS -
<br />INLET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Public Construction, requested permission to
<br />advertise to receive bids on the above referred to project.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - MONROE
<br />PARK PHASE V LOT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Public Construction, requested permission to
<br />advertise to receive bids on the above referred to project.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan
<br />and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS -
<br />USED VEHICLES - POLICE DEPARTMENT DETECTIVE BUREAU
<br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Dan D. Thompson
<br />requested permission to advertise for the purchase of used
<br />cars to be used by the South Bend detectives, executive and
<br />surveillance type assignments. Specifications provided with
<br />the request contain a provision for trade-in units along
<br />with the time and date these units can be viewed. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above request was approved.
