<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY 1300 & 1400 BLOCKS
<br />OF SUNNYMEDE REFERRED (SEPTEMBER 11., 1983)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Tami McNally, 1404 Su.nnymede
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,..requested permission to block
<br />off the 1300 and 1400 blocks of:Sunnymede on Sunday, September
<br />11, 1983, from 2 to'10 p.m. for a neighborhood block party.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.
<br />Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation.`
<br />REQUEST TO HAVE ALLEY CLOSED FOR CHURCH COOKOUT
<br />REFERRED (AUGUST 6 13, 20, 27', 19'83)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Tommie Dotson, 2021 Kenwood Street,
<br />South Bend,. Indiana, on behalf of the Sweet Home Church,
<br />410 South Taylor Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested.
<br />permission to have the alley next to the church from Taylor
<br />to William Street blocked off from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on
<br />Saturday, August 6, 13, 20 and 27., 1983 for a church cookout.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the above request mas referred to the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND SHRINE CLUB TO HAVE
<br />SIDEWALKS CLOSED FOR CORN ROAST AUGUST 13, 1983
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David B. Wiseman, Member of
<br />the Board of Trustees of the'South.Bend Shrine Club, Inc.,
<br />requested that the sidewalks on the north and west sides of
<br />the South Bend Shrine Club at 126 West Marion Street be
<br />closed from 2:00 p.m, to 8:00 p.m, on August 13, 1983, in
<br />conjunction with their annual -corn roast. The sidewalks
<br />will be used for serving of food and beverages and for
<br />patron seating. The sidewalk will only -be used beside
<br />the building on the above mentioned two sides. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of.Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed this request
<br />and recommends approval:. Approval is subject to the filing
<br />of the appropriate $1,000,00.0.00 Certificate of Insurance
<br />naming the City as an additional_ insured. It was further
<br />noted that barricades will be furnished by the Bureau of
<br />Traffic and Lighting for this closure. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded.by Mr. Hill and carried, the
<br />above request was approved.
<br />REQUEST OF NEAR NORTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD TO CONDUCT RUN IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH NEIGHBORHOOD FESTIVAL'- SEPTEMBER 10, 1983 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Sara Goetz, 1067 Woodward, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, indicated that the residents of the Near North-
<br />west and Near West neighborhood are organizing a neighborhood
<br />festival for September 10, 1983 to promote the neighborhoods,
<br />merchants and residents. One of the activities being .
<br />sponsored is a one mile run. She is, therefore, requesting
<br />permission at this time to conduct the run. The route to
<br />be utilized has been provided. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR ONE WEEK EXTENSION OF 'TENT REVIVAL
<br />MIRACLE REVIVAL DELIVERANCE CENTER CHURCH
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board on June 27, 1983,
<br />approved the request of the Miracle Revival Deliverance
<br />Center Church to erect a tent and conduct revival services.
<br />Rev. Lord M. Hunt, in a letter to the Board, is now requesting
<br />an extension of one week for tent revival services. Upon a
<br />motion made'by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the extension was approved subject to the filing of a $1,000,000
<br />Certificate of Insurance naming the City as an additional insured
<br />covering this one week extension from August 1 through 6, 1983.
