REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1983 <br />APPROVE ENTRANCE CANOPY -"EMPORIUM RESTAURANT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that City Awning of South Bend, 1835 <br />South Franklin Street, South Bend, Indiana is requesting <br />permission to erect an entrance canopy at the Emporium <br />Restaurant, 121 South Niles Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. <br />The request has been reviewed by the Building Department <br />and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and favorable recom- <br />mendations have -been forwarded to the Board. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the above request was approved subject to the filing of a <br />$1,000,000.00 Certificate of Insurance naming the City of <br />South Bend as an additional insured. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO HAVE STREET CLOSED FOR CHURCH <br />ETHNIC FESTIVAL - ADAMS STREET (JULY 30, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, presented to <br />the Board on July 11, 1983, and recommends approval. Approval <br />is subject to.the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and <br />unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The petitioner <br />is responsible for the closing and opening of the street <br />with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of.Traffic <br />and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET FOR <br />STUDEBAKER GRAND OPENING (JULY 19. 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski, City Events Coordinator, to have South <br />Street closed, presented to the Board on July 11, 1983, and <br />recommends approval. Approval is subject to the maintenance <br />of a twelve (12) foot clear and unobstructed lane for <br />emergency purposes. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - <br />CAMPEAU STREET (JULY 30, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mr. Arvester Fleming on behalf of the First A.M.E. Zion <br />Church, presented to the Board on July ll, 1983 and recommends <br />approval. Approval is subject to the maintenance of a ten <br />(10) foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. <br />The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of <br />the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - <br />PORTAGE COURT (JULY 31, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mr. Nathaniel Madison presented to the Board on July 11, 1983 <br />and recommends approval. The petitioner is responsible for <br />the closing and opening of the street with barricades to be <br />provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />
