REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1983 APPROVE ENTRANCE CANOPY -"EMPORIUM RESTAURANT Mr. Leszczynski advised that City Awning of South Bend, 1835 South Franklin Street, South Bend, Indiana is requesting permission to erect an entrance canopy at the Emporium Restaurant, 121 South Niles Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. The request has been reviewed by the Building Department and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and favorable recom- mendations have -been forwarded to the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved subject to the filing of a $1,000,000.00 Certificate of Insurance naming the City of South Bend as an additional insured. APPROVE REQUEST TO HAVE STREET CLOSED FOR CHURCH ETHNIC FESTIVAL - ADAMS STREET (JULY 30, 1983) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, presented to the Board on July 11, 1983, and recommends approval. Approval is subject to.the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of.Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET FOR STUDEBAKER GRAND OPENING (JULY 19. 1983) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Ms. Mikki Dobski, City Events Coordinator, to have South Street closed, presented to the Board on July 11, 1983, and recommends approval. Approval is subject to the maintenance of a twelve (12) foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - CAMPEAU STREET (JULY 30, 1983) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Mr. Arvester Fleming on behalf of the First A.M.E. Zion Church, presented to the Board on July ll, 1983 and recommends approval. Approval is subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - PORTAGE COURT (JULY 31, 1983) Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Mr. Nathaniel Madison presented to the Board on July 11, 1983 and recommends approval. The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved.
