REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 18, 1983 <br />303 <br />1 <br />U <br />I <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />CREST MANOR RETENTION POND REPAIRS PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, <br />Bureau of Public Construction, requested permission to <br />advertise for receipt of bids for the above referred to <br />project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE COUNTER-OFFER FOR PURCHASE OF CITY - <br />OWNED PROPERTY - 1034 W. NAPIER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that bids for the sale of the city - <br />owned property at 1034 W. Napier were opened on July 11, 1983. <br />At that time, one bid in the amount of $50.00 was received <br />from Ms. Viola Vanison, 318 McPherson, South Bend, Indiana. <br />The Clerk was instructed at that time to contact Ms. <br />Vanison and make a counter-offer of $75.00 for that <br />property. In a letter to the Board, Ms. Vanison has <br />indicated that she is willing to pay $75.00 for the <br />property. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by ; <br />Mr. Hill and carried, the bid of $75.00 was accepted and <br />the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for the <br />drafting of the appropriate Purchase Agreement. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY-ONWED PROPERTY REFERRED (5:05 MILTON) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. James Sego,, indicated his <br />interest in purchasing the city -owned lot at 505 Milton <br />Street. Mr. Sego stated that he is presently buying a <br />home at 509 East Milton and is interested in purchasing <br />the empty city -owned lot adjacent to it. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was referred to the necessary city departments <br />and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the <br />City need retain the lot for any reason. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - MAPLE LANE FOURS (PHASE THREE/SECTION TWO) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for Maple Lane <br />Fours (Phase three/Section two) for street, storm and sanitary <br />sewers was being presented at this time for execution. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />REQUEST OF AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY FOR ANNUAL <br />COMMUNITY COLLECTION REFERRED (AUGUST 13, 1983) <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Susan Van Fleit, Coordinator <br />of the American Cancer Society, Indiana Division, Inc., <br />requests permission to collect for the American Cancer. <br />Society at the following locations within the City: <br />Lincoln Way West and Bendix Drive <br />Western Avenue and Mayflower <br />Portage and Angela <br />Michigan and Ewing <br />Michigan and Ireland Road <br />Michigan and Northshore <br />Main and Chippewa <br />Miami and Ireland <br />Miami and Lincoln Way <br />Ironwood and Lincoln Way <br />Ironwood and Mishawaka <br />Ironwood and Corby <br />Logan and Jefferson <br />Eddy and South Bend Avenue <br />She further stated that the Annual Community Collection has <br />been tentatively scheduled for August 13, 1983. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />
