REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1983 303 1 U I APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - CREST MANOR RETENTION POND REPAIRS PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, requested permission to advertise for receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE COUNTER-OFFER FOR PURCHASE OF CITY - OWNED PROPERTY - 1034 W. NAPIER Mr. Leszczynski advised that bids for the sale of the city - owned property at 1034 W. Napier were opened on July 11, 1983. At that time, one bid in the amount of $50.00 was received from Ms. Viola Vanison, 318 McPherson, South Bend, Indiana. The Clerk was instructed at that time to contact Ms. Vanison and make a counter-offer of $75.00 for that property. In a letter to the Board, Ms. Vanison has indicated that she is willing to pay $75.00 for the property. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by ; Mr. Hill and carried, the bid of $75.00 was accepted and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for the drafting of the appropriate Purchase Agreement. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY-ONWED PROPERTY REFERRED (5:05 MILTON) In a letter to the Board, Mr. James Sego,, indicated his interest in purchasing the city -owned lot at 505 Milton Street. Mr. Sego stated that he is presently buying a home at 509 East Milton and is interested in purchasing the empty city -owned lot adjacent to it. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the necessary city departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. APPROVE TITLE SHEET - MAPLE LANE FOURS (PHASE THREE/SECTION TWO) Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for Maple Lane Fours (Phase three/Section two) for street, storm and sanitary sewers was being presented at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Title Sheet was approved and signed. REQUEST OF AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY FOR ANNUAL COMMUNITY COLLECTION REFERRED (AUGUST 13, 1983) In a letter to the Board, Ms. Susan Van Fleit, Coordinator of the American Cancer Society, Indiana Division, Inc., requests permission to collect for the American Cancer. Society at the following locations within the City: Lincoln Way West and Bendix Drive Western Avenue and Mayflower Portage and Angela Michigan and Ewing Michigan and Ireland Road Michigan and Northshore Main and Chippewa Miami and Ireland Miami and Lincoln Way Ironwood and Lincoln Way Ironwood and Mishawaka Ironwood and Corby Logan and Jefferson Eddy and South Bend Avenue She further stated that the Annual Community Collection has been tentatively scheduled for August 13, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
