283 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 27. 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE ASSUMPTION DRIVE FOR <br />ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL AUGUST 14, 1983 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Rev. F. Thomas Lallak, Pastor, St. Mary of the Assumption <br />Church, presented to the Board on June 24, 1983, to close <br />Assumption Drive on Sunday, August 14, 1983 from noon until <br />10:00 p.m. for the annual parish festival and recommends <br />approval. Approval is subject to a twelve (12) foot clear <br />and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The petitioner <br />is responsible for the closing and opening of the street.with <br />barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr..Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK.PARTY - <br />1800 BLK. WILBER STREET '(JULY 4, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has reviewed the request of Mr. <br />Richard L. Farrell, Jr., 1842 Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana <br />to conduct an annual block party on the 4th of July in the 1800 <br />block of Wilber Street between Marquette and Portage between <br />the hours of 2-6:00 p.m, and recommends approval. Approval <br />is subjecttoa ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane <br />for emergency purposes. The petitioner is responsible for <br />the closing and opening of the street with barricades to be <br />provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski,-seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY <br />1200 BLK. WOODWARD (DULY 2, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the.request of <br />Mr. Fred Smith, 1202 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to <br />conduct the "Residents of 1200 block of Woodward Avenue 4th <br />Annual block party". The party is to be held on July 2, 1983 <br />from 12:00 noon until dark. It is requested that Woodward <br />Avenue from Yukon to Hudson Streets be closed for this event. <br />Mr. Smith indicated that the neighborhood gathering will be <br />held at the 1223 Woodward residence of Joseph Heintzelman. <br />Mr. Wadzinski is recommending approval subject to a ten (10) <br />foot clear.and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. <br />The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of <br />the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY <br />1500 NORTH WELLINGTONS '(JULY 3,' 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski,.Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mr. Tim Winkle, 1517 North Wellington, South Bend, Indiana <br />to conduct a block party on Wellington between Bulla and <br />Elwood on July 3, 1983 from 1:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m, and <br />recommends approval. Approval is subject to a twelve (12) <br />foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. <br />The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening <br />of the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved. <br />
