<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ERECT TENT - MIRACLE REVIVAL
<br />DELIVERANCE CENTER CHURCH
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of
<br />the Miracle Revival Deliverance Center Church presented to
<br />the Board on June 20, 1983 and recommends approval subject to
<br />participants utilizing an empty lot for off-street parking.
<br />Pastor Eugene Raggins.will be advised that a Certificate of
<br />Flame Retardancy and a permit from the Building Department
<br />must be secured in order to erect a tent or canopy. Additionally,
<br />the Miracle Revival Deliverance Center Church will be requested
<br />to file with the Board a Certificate of Insurance in the
<br />amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City of South Bend as an
<br />additional insured for the duration of the revival. It was
<br />noted that Mr. Raggins telephoned to inform the Board that
<br />the dates originally requested to conduct the revival have
<br />been changed and the revival is now scheduled from July 16,
<br />1983 to July 30, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - 1000 W. OAK (JULY 4, 1983)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of
<br />Mrs. Linda Johnson, 1015 West Oak Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to conduct a block party, presented to the Board on June 20,
<br />1983, and recommends approval subject to Oak Street being
<br />closed from Allen to Sherman. Ms. Johnson requested that only
<br />one half of the 1000 block be closed but Mr. Wadzinski is recom-
<br />mending that no partial blocks be allowed. Approval is
<br />additionally subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot
<br />clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The
<br />petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the
<br />street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request, as amended, was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - 1100 BLOCK
<br />CLEVELAND (JULY 23, 1983)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed.the request of
<br />Mrs. Theresa Martin, 1121 Cleveland Avenue, South Bend, Indiana
<br />and Mrs. Anita Bertolini, 1141 Cleveland Avenue, South Bend,
<br />Indiana to have the 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue closed on
<br />Saturday, July 23, 1983 (with a rain date of August 6, 1983)
<br />for the second annual block party and recommended approval.
<br />The block party is to be held from 4:00 p.m. until midnight.
<br />They are requesting that Cleveland Avenue, from Humboldt to
<br />Vassar be blocked off for the activities of the block party.
<br />Approval is subject to the maintenance'of a ten (10) foot
<br />clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes: The
<br />petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the
<br />street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDJCT BLOCK PARTY - 14ATTHEWS LN. (JULY 2, 1983)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Mr.
<br />Casey J. Major, 1409 Matthews Lane, South Bend, Indiana to conduct
<br />a block party, presented to the Board on June 20, 1983, and recom-
<br />mends approval. Approval is subject to the maintenance of a ten
<br />(10) foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes.
<br />The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the
<br />street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr.
<br />Kernan and carried, the above request was approved.
