Z35 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 31., 1983 <br />(Western Avenue) in the City of South Bend, St. <br />Joseph County as follows: No Parking Within 15 <br />feet of Pavement on the south side of SR 2 (Western <br />Avenue) from the centerline of Lombardy,Drive to a <br />point 150 feet west thereof, a total distance of <br />approximately 150 feet. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the Official Actionformas provided <br />by the Indiana Department of Highways was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF COMMERCIAL LEASES FOR SURFACE <br />PARKING (REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in a letter to the Board, Ms. <br />Ann Kolata, Deputy Director, Department of Redevelopment, <br />is providing thirty (30) days notice of termination of two <br />Commercial Leases for Parcels 4-3, 4-80, 4-30, 4-28 and 4-29 <br />which the Board accepted for Filing on May 19, 1980. The <br />leases are for surface parking lots located in the downtown <br />area on the southwest corner of Washington. Street and St. <br />Joseph Street and run all the way to the old Michigan <br />Street. The Commercial Leases will.be terminated as of <br />June 30, 1983. Ms. Kolata stated that notice is being <br />given because of the Redevelopment Commission'.s intention <br />to sell this property to CLF.Corporation. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr.. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the release of the above referred to Commercial Leases <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />LA SALLE-FILLMORE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER <br />Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested <br />permission on behalf of the Bureau of Housing to advertise <br />for bids for the relocation of two (2) portable classrooms <br />to the LaSalle-Fillmore Neighborhood Center. Also included <br />is the construction of a parking lot, sidewalks and lighting. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTH APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board Ethnic Festival Booth <br />applications for consideration. Ms. Mikki Dobski, on behalf <br />of the Ethnic Festival Committee, recommends the following <br />six (6) food booths for approval: <br />George Macri Hung Tran <br />Puzzello Italian Food Timothy Grauel (Am. Turners). <br />El Campito, Inc. Terry O'Rogers/Tom Clancy <br />She further stated that this.brings the total food booths <br />to thirty-nine (39). Upon a motion: made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendations <br />as presented were accepted and approved. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - PARKOVASH AVENUE <br />(JUNE 26, 1983) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Marker, Jr., 218 <br />Parkovash, South Bend, Indiana regested permission to have <br />Parkovash Avenue closed from Hillcrest to Lafayette Boulevard <br />from 10:00 a.m, to 6:00 p.m. on June 26, 1983. The purpose <br />for the closing is to conduct a party and family reunion. <br />Upon a motion made by PZr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />
