<br />REQUEST TO HAVE CURB PAINTED BLUE FOR HANDICAPPED
<br />PERSON IN STUDEBAKER SCHOOL AREA REFERRED - 729 E. DUBAIL
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Wolford, 729
<br />East Dubai l.Street, requested that the curb in front of
<br />their residence be painted blue to assist Mr. Wolford who
<br />has had an amputation of his left leg. They stated that
<br />because Studebaker School has all yellow (no parking) on
<br />the south side of the street, they are not able to park
<br />in front of.their home. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded.by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT INTERSECTION FUND SOLICITATION - NATIONAL
<br />ASSOCIATION OF LETTER CARRIERS BRANCH 330"REFERRED (JUNE 26'. 1983)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Gregory A. Coffin, Vice -
<br />President, Branch 330, N.A.L.C., AFL-CIO requested permission
<br />to solicit funds for aiding Muscular Dystrophy Association of
<br />America between the hours of 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. at the
<br />intersections of Lincolnway East at Miami, Eddy at Jefferson,
<br />Ironwood at Edison and Miami at Ireland. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the
<br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for
<br />review and recommendation.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT 5TH ANNUAL ST. ADALBERT/
<br />CORVILLA FUN RUN (JULY 17, 1983)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski,
<br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the
<br />request of William Michalski, 620 South Meade Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana to conduct the 5th Annual St. Adalbert/Corvilla
<br />Run to be held on Sunday, July 17th beginning at 6:00 p.m. to
<br />be run through the streets of the west side and recommends
<br />approval. The date for this event has been reserved and the
<br />final plans on the route are to be completed with the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic
<br />Division. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. ADALBERT'S CHURCH TO CONDUCT SUMMER
<br />FESTIVAL AND CLOSING OF GRACE STREET (JULY 15, 16, 17, 1983)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski,
<br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the
<br />request of Rev. Eugene J. Kazmierczak, Pastor, St. Adalbert's
<br />Church to sponsor their annual Summer Festival on July 15,
<br />16, 17, 1983 on parish grounds. As part of this festival,
<br />permission is requested to close the area of Grace Street
<br />immediately south of the parish property for these three
<br />days. Mr. Wadzinski recommends approval of this request
<br />subject to a 10 footlane remaining free of stands, rides,
<br />booths, etc. for emergency purposes. This lane may be
<br />used as a pedestrian walk area. Additionally, barricades
<br />will be delivered by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and are to be set up and removed by the church. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. STEPHEN'S'PARISH TO CONDUCT RUN
<br />(AUGUST 6, 1983
<br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
<br />has reviewed the request of Ricardo Parra, Chairman, St. Stephen's
<br />Parish Festival Race Committee and recommends approval of the
<br />date of August 6, 1983 for the parish festival run. The final
<br />route for this event is to be worked out with Mr. Parra, the
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department
<br />Traffic Division. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved.
