2.2-0 REGULAR MEETING MAY 16. 1983 APPROVE REQUEST OF AMERICAN LEGION UNIT 357 TO SELL POPPIES (MAY 20, 21, 1983) Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Ms. Jean Bowersox on behalf.of Unit 357 of the American Legion to sell poppies on City sidewalks on May 20 and 21, 1983.and recommends approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the license application of Edmarde's Real Estate Partnership to operate a public parking facility at 117 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. It was noted that the required Proof of Insurance was attached to the application. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS Mr. Leszczynski advised that license applications were received from the following: 1. Mary Ann Melching Antique World, Inc. 1122 Mishawaka Avenue 2. Keith Rideout JR's Antiques & Gifts 434 N. Michigan Street 3. Ronald Gordon The Light Owl 529 Lincolnwav West He further advised that favorable reports had been received from the Police Department, Fire Department, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license.applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. APPROVE SIDEWALK: SALE PERMIT APPLICATION Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Sidewalk Sale Permit application has been received from Ms. Carol J. Evans, General Manager, Erica's, 1602 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requesting permission to conduct a sidewalk sale on May 27 and 28, 1983. Ms. Evans proposes to use four (4) eight (8) foot tables and two (2) small tables for the display of needlework kits, yarn, frames and miscellaneous needlework items. It was noted that the appropriate Indemnification Agreement has been executed by Ms. Evans. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommended the Board release the Contractor's Bond for Art Wells, 1502 South Scott Street, effective May 16, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bond was released as recommended.
