REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 1983 <br />need more fill. The Department of Code Enforcement will have <br />the lot properly filled and graded. Based on this determina- <br />tion, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the Board accepted the $220.00 bid of Mr. <br />Robert Johnson for the above referred to property and the <br />matter was referred to the Legal Department for preparation <br />of the necessary Purchase Agreement. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF UNITED RELIGIOUS COMTZUNITY TO CONDUCT MARCH <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the <br />requestofMr. James Fisko Executive Director, United <br />Religious Community of St. Joseph County to conduct a march <br />on Sunday, May 29, 1983, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and recommends <br />approval.. The marchers are to use sidewalks and obey and <br />observe traffic control devices and laws. The route to be <br />used is as follows: <br />Assemble at First Christian Church, Jefferson and <br />Eddy; west on Jefferson to St. Joseph Street; north <br />on St. Joseph to Washington; west on Washington to <br />Lafayette; north on Lafayette to the Cathedral of <br />St. James Episcopal Church, 117 North Lafayette. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF C.E. LEE COMPA14Y TO CLOSE ALLEY & ERECT TENT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, and.the Department of <br />Code Enforcement have reviewed the request of Mr. William J. <br />Lee, of the C.E. Lee Company requesting permission to close <br />the east/west alley between their store located at 215 South <br />Main Street and their parking lot on Friday and Saturday, <br />June 3rd and 4th and recommends approval. Approval is also <br />recommended for the erection of a tent or canopy to be used <br />for the truck load paint sale. The C.E. Lee Company will be <br />advised that a Certificate of Flame Retardancy and a permit <br />from the Building Department must be secured in order to <br />erect a tent or canopy. It was.additionally noted that the <br />alley must remain unobstructed and available at all times <br />for emergency vehicles. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST.,STEPHEN'S PARISH SPANISH- <br />SPEAKING USHERS CLUB TO CLOSE ALLEY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed,`the <br />request of Mr. Jose G. Garza, President of the St. Stephen's <br />Parish Spanish -Speaking Ushers Club, as submitted to the Board <br />on April 25, 1983, and recommends approval. The Club is <br />requesting permission to close the alley at the entrance and <br />exit ends of Huron Street; also the middle alley coming from <br />the main alley facing toward Walnut Street and the entrance <br />and exit side of 404 South Walnut Street. The Annual Mother's <br />Day celebration will be held on May 8, 1983 from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. <br />The petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of <br />the alleys with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved. <br />
