REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 25, 1983 <br />Contract with Department of Public Parks for Tree <br />Planting Activity. The targeted goal for the Tree <br />Planting Activity is to plant 120 trees in parks, <br />selected residential areas, along neighborhood <br />commercial strips and other urban areas within the <br />Community Development Neighborhood Strategy areas. <br />The total cost of the Tree Planting Activity shall <br />not exceed $10,000.00 <br />Contract with Community Coordinated Child Care for Day <br />Care Stipend Activity. The targeted goal for the <br />Day Care Stipend Activity is to provide 3,753 child <br />days of service. The total cost of this activity <br />shall not exceed $37,500.00. <br />Contract with Neighborhood Housing Services of South <br />Bend, Inc. for NHS Acquisition/Rehabilitation Activity. <br />The targeted goal for the NHS Acquisition/Rehab Activity <br />is to acquire and rehabilitate 5 housing units. The <br />total cost of this activity shall not exceed $73,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr.. Hill and carried, <br />the above contracts were approved. <br />APPROVE USE OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS FOR ELECTION DAY PURPOSES <br />A request was received from C.J.— Pajakowski, Chairman of the <br />St. Joseph Colunty'Democratic Central Committee, for permission <br />to use the followingpublic buildings for voting purposes on <br />Tuesday, May 3, 1983: <br />#2 <br />Fire <br />Station <br />110 <br />E. Ireland <br />Potawatomi Greenhouse <br />2105 <br />Mishawaka <br />Pinhook <br />Pavilion <br />2801 <br />Riverside <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR UNITED RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY MARCH REFERRED <br />In a letter presented to the Board, Mr. James Fisko, Executive <br />Director, United Religious Community of St. Joseph County, <br />requested permission to hold a march on Sunday, May 29, 1983, <br />beginning at 2:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic <br />Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF C.E. LEE COMPA14Y TO CLOSE ALLEY & ERECT TENT REFERRED <br />In a letter presented to the Board, Mr. William J. Lee, of the <br />C.E. Lee Company, requested permission to close the east/west <br />alley between their store located at 215 South Main Street and <br />their parking lot on Friday and Saturday, June 3rd and 4th. <br />Additionally, they requested permission to erect a tent or <br />canopy to be used for their annual truck load paint sale. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, the Police Traffic Division and the <br />Department of Code Enforcement for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />
