187 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 18, 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS.- <br />SCOTT STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (NHS) <br />Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of Public Construction, in <br />a memorandum to the Board, requested permission to advertise <br />for receipt of sealed bids for the Scott Street Improvements <br />(NHS) Project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved with sealed <br />bids to be received by the Board on May 9, 1983. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - RETENTION <br />BASIN AND STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM- ETHANOL PLANT PROJECT <br />Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director,- Public Works, in a letter <br />to the Board requested permissiontoadvertise for receipt <br />of sealed bids for the installation of a retention basin and <br />storm drainage system at the ethanol plant site. He further <br />advised that a final set of plans and specifications are being <br />prepared and that funds are available for the above referred <br />to improvements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - RETENTION BASIN AND STORM <br />DRAINAGE SYSTEM - ETHANOL PLANT PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the title sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented to the Board for <br />execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above Title Sheet was approved <br />and signed. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 8-1983 - DISPOSE OF <br />OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell <br />requested permission to declare obsolete two pumpers which <br />are no longer operable. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Resolution <br />No. 8-1983 for the disposal of the equipment was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8-1983 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of <br />Public Works that the following vehicles are obsolete <br />and deteriorated to the point where repair costs would <br />exceed their value: <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT - TWO (2) PUMPERS: <br />Reserve #51 - 1960 Maxim - Serial No. 2202 <br />Reserve #3 - 1962 Maxim - Serial No. 2361 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 provides for the <br />disposal of personal property no longer needed or <br />obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Public Works of the City of South Bend that the <br />above listed vehicles are obsolete and not needed by <br />the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle <br />Maintenance be authorized to scrap said vehicles and <br />that they be removed from the City Vehicle,Inventory. <br />Approved this 18th day of April, 1983. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E.
