REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1983 <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the following eight (8) traffic control devices <br />as recommended by Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting were approved: <br />REMOVE YIELD SIGN - On Hartzer at Bendix. (Remainder. <br />of Bendix Improvement, Railroad Crossing). <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Churchill at Corby. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Gartner at Corby. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN On Weber Square East at Corby. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On CavanaughatCorby. <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Weber Square West at Corby. <br />REMOVE NO TURN ON RED - Westbound Wayne at Lafayette <br />(Experimental 90 days). <br />INSTALL 2 HR. PARKING 8AM - 6PM - 3213 Mishawaka Avenue. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - APRIL 17, 1983 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the <br />request of Ms. Brenda McGee, 324 Cottage Grove, to conduct <br />a block party on Cottage Grove from Oak Street to the dead <br />end at the alley on Sunday, April 17, 1983 from 3:OO p.m. <br />to 6:OO p.m. and recommends approval. Approval for the block <br />party was given subject to the maintenance of a 12-foot clear <br />and unobstructed lane at either curb or down.the center of <br />the street for emergency purposes. The Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting will deliver the necessary barricades to close <br />the street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried,.the above request to conduct a <br />block party was approved. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommended the approval of an <br />Excavation Bond for Donald A. Madaras, d/b/a Speedy Drain <br />Cleaners, effective April 11, 1983. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszc.zynski,seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />bond was approved as recommended. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a license application was received <br />from Margaret A. Widman for Sample Thrift Shop, 413 East <br />Sample Street, South Bend. He further advised that favorable <br />reports had been received from the Police Department, Fire <br />Department, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Department <br />of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application <br />was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office <br />for issuance. <br />APRROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a license application was received <br />from the First United Methodist Church for renewal of the <br />Public Parking Facility License. The required Proof of <br />Insurance was attached to the application. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above license application was approved and referred to the <br />Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the following ten (10) handicapped parking <br />permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance: <br />
