REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 11, 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />STREET DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT <br />In a letter to the -Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division <br />of Transportati-,,'requested permission to advertise for <br />sealed bids for the following Street Department equipment: <br />Two <br />(2) <br />each <br />- Tandem Axle Cab and Chassis <br />Two <br />(2) <br />each <br />- Asphalt Rollers (Two/Three Ton Static) <br />One <br />(1) <br />each <br />- Road Planer with 42" Wide Cutting Drum <br />Two <br />(2) <br />each <br />- Pick-ups (One/Half Ton) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the request was approved with sealed bids to be <br />received by the Board on May 2, 1983. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Kathleen Barnard, Director of the Department of Code. <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale <br />of approximately eight (8) abandoned vehicles, four (4) of <br />which were valued at over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and <br />all of which were being -stored at the Hurwich Impoundment <br />Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue. It was noted that all vehicles <br />had been stored more than the required thirty (30) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft, and the <br />owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved and a date of April 25, 1983 was established <br />for the receipt of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING ON REVENUE SHARING FUNDS - WESTERN <br />AVENUE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE-- 825,000.00 <br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz requested Board approval <br />for an intended use hearing on the proposed expenditure of <br />$25,000.00 in revenue sharing funds to be used for Western <br />Avenue Economic Development Initiative. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved and a date of April 25, 1983 was set for the <br />public hearing on the intended use of the revenue sharing funds. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Andrew W. Brown, Assistant Campaign <br />Manager for Eugenia Braboy, 3504 East Corby Street, South Bend, <br />requested the closure of Studebaker Street from LaPorte to <br />Fassnacht from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, <br />1983 for a block party for Eugenia Braboy. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request.was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE REFERRED <br />In a letter presented to the Board, Mr. Daniel C. Dutrieuz, <br />Advisor to the Board of Directors of C.W.L.L., requested <br />permission to conduct an opening day parade on Saturday, May <br />21, 1983 starting at 8:00 a.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and,the Police <br />Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />
