2 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21. 1983 <br />INSTALL NO PARKING - South side of Ford Street <br />from Walnut to RR Crossing. <br />INSTALL 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT - Dundee, from Ford to Sample. <br />INSTALL TRUCKS OVER 25,000 GVW PROHIBITED - Walnut <br />between Sample and Ford. <br />INSTALL NO PARKING West side of Dundee from Sample <br />North to alley North of and parallel to Sample (approx. 150'). <br />REVISE TO NO PARKING - Both sides of Liberty from Sample <br />to alley North of.and parallel to Sample (approx. 150'). <br />INSTALL MULTI -WAY STOP SIGN - Davis and Olive. <br />INSTALL MULTI -WAY STOP SIGN - Grant and Sample. <br />INSTALL MULTI -WAY STOP SIGN - Liberty and Sample. <br />APPROVE ANNUAL POPPY DAY SALE - MAY 20 & 21, 1983 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting; has reviewed the <br />request of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, South Bend Post No. <br />1167, 1047 Lincolnway East, South Bend, Indiana to conduct their <br />annual Poppy Day Sale on the sidewalks throughout the City on <br />Friday, May 20, 1983 and Saturday, May 21, 1983. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was approved as recommended. <br />APPROVE WEST SIDE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL DAY ANNUAL PARADE MAY 30. 1983 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager,. Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the <br />request of the West Side Memorial Committee to conduct their <br />annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30, 1983. Mr. <br />Wadzinski stated "that details as to the route, marshalling and <br />other details will be worked out with the West Side Memorial <br />Committee. The Board will be notified of any changes due to <br />the Olive/Sample overpass construction. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hillard carried, the above <br />request was approved. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommended the Board release the <br />Contractor's Bond for Batteast Construction Company, Inc., <br />effective March 21, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bond was released <br />as recommended. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommended the approval.of.a.._ <br />Contractor's. Bond for Batteast Construction Company, Inc.,. <br />effective March 21, 1983. Mr. Leszczynski stated that this is <br />a replacement bond for Batteast Construction. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above bond was approved as recommended. <br />APPROVAL OF APPOINTMENT OF BOARD MEMBER TO C014MITTEE <br />REGARDING THE "VIOLIN WOMAN" SCULPTURE <br />In a letter to the Board of Public Works, Mayor Roger 0. Parent <br />requested that the Board select one of its members to serve on a <br />committee to study the location of the "Violin Woman" sculpture. <br />He stated that the committee will consist of the sculptor, -Harold <br />Langland, one member of the Art Center Board of Directors, two. <br />members from the South Bend Symphony and two members from the Youth <br />Action Team, one of them to be Mr. Mark Kurowski. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Mr. Leszczynski, as <br />President of the Board, was selected to serve on this committee. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
