Kernan <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Sandra M. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED (633 LA PORTE) <br />A letter was received from Mr. Lee F. Barnhart, 828 West Colfax <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana stating his interest in purchasing <br />the above named property. Upon a..motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to <br />the necessary city departments and bureaus for a determination <br />as to whether or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. <br />REQUEST BY BOARD TO MAKE COUNTER-OFFER FOR PURCHASE <br />OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (1237 VAN BUREN), <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that an offer to purchase <br />the city owned property at 1237 Van Buren was received from <br />Mr. Richard Chambliss, 1243 Van Buren. Mr. Chambliss bid <br />$2.00. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that Mr. Chambliss <br />originally submitted a sealed bid for the purchase of this <br />property on November_1, 1983. At the time the bid was opened, <br />it could not be deciphered and therefore all abutting property <br />owners were notified of the availability of the property. The <br />appraisal price of the property is.$215.00. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />Board rejected the bid of $2.00 and instructed the Clerk <br />to make a counter-offerof.$150.00. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BAR <br />ASSOCIATION "FUN RUN" REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Jeffery A. Johnson, on behalf of <br />the St. Joseph County Bar Association, requested approval <br />to conduct a three (3) mile "Fun Run" on Sunday, May 1, 1983. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review <br />and recommendation. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that ten (10) traffic control devices <br />as recommended by Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting were being.presented to the Board <br />for approval. He further stated that the.traffic control <br />devices being recommended were in the Olive/Sample construction <br />area and were being recommended based on complaints received <br />from citizens and requests by the South Bend Police Department <br />Traffic Division. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following traffic control <br />devices were approved: <br />INSTALL NO PARKING - South side of Ford Street, <br />approximately 200' East and West of Meade Street. <br />INSTALL NO PARKING - South side of Ford Street <br />from Lombardy to Kaley. <br />
