63 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 1983 <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS -.RUBBISH AND GARBAGE <br />Applications for Rubbish and Garbage Removal Licenses were <br />received from the following: <br />Joseph Morrow <br />701 E. Howard <br />Tommy T. Jennings <br />514 Sheridan <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used had <br />been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and they were found <br />to be in compliance. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license applications <br />were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office <br />for issuance. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION- PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded.by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the license application for Main and Washington Joint <br />Venture, 211 West Washington, for public parking facility was <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for <br />issuance. It was noted that a favorable fire inspection of <br />the facility was provided by Assistant Fire Chief George Gyori. <br />The required Proof of Insurance was attached to the application. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that license applications were received <br />from Salley Holbert for Bargain Town at 2222 Mishawaka Avenue, <br />South Bend and Rev. David Holiday and Rev. Robert Daniels for <br />the Open Door Mission Store at 1402 South Michigan Street. <br />He further advised that favorable reports had been received from <br />the Police Department, Fire Department, Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, and the Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above license applications were approved and <br />referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations were <br />received from the Health Department, Fire Department and <br />Department of Code Enforcement for the renewal application <br />for an Open Air Stand License for the Dawg House located at <br />2113 Western Avenue. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above application was <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance. <br />SIDEWALK PERMIT APPLICATION TAKEN UNDER ADVISEMENT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a Sidewalk Permit Application for <br />Western Electronics was received for consideration by the Board. <br />Mr. Hill stated that by ordinance, anyone requesting the use of <br />the public sidewalk must complete a Sidewalk Permit Application <br />which the Board will review. If the application is acceptable, <br />it will be approved and a permit issued by the Deputy Controller's <br />office. According to ordinance, the permit is valid for a period <br />of one (1) year. Mr. Hill further stated that before the Board <br />approves the Sidewalk Permit Application for Western Electronics <br />the location requested must be carefully considered. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the above referred to application was taken under advisement <br />and a determination will be presented at the next meeting of <br />the Board. <br />
