?M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT AUCTION OF BICYCLE <br />AND UNCLAIMED PROPERTY <br />MARCH 7, 1983 <br />Police Chief Dan D. Thompson and Services Division Chief <br />Spandward T. Mitchem requested Board approval for the <br />disposal of unclaimed bicycles and other unclaimed property <br />at a public auction to be held on Saturday, April 16,.1983, <br />starting at 8:30 a.m. and concluding:at 1:30 p.m. at the <br />rear.of the police wing of the Municipal Services Facility, <br />701 West Sample Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was <br />appoved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL <br />Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, <br />requested approval for the advertising of sealed bids for <br />the City's supply of gasoline and fuel oil for the calendar <br />year 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved with <br />sealed bids to be received by the Board on March 28, 1983. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM FOR 1983 <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that requests had again been received <br />by the Board for permission to garden on city -owned lots. <br />He explained that the program has been in effect for the <br />past several years and interested citizens are requested <br />to sign a release form which sets forth certain rules and <br />regulations pertaining to the use of the property. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the project was approved. <br />APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING ON REVENUE SHARING FUNDS - <br />HOWARD PARK SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER <br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz requested Board <br />approval for an intended use hearing on the proposed expenditure <br />of $25,000 in revenue sharing funds to be used for Howard Park <br />Senior Citizen Center operations for 1983. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the request was approved and a date of March 21, 1983 set <br />for public hearing on the intended use of the revenue sharing <br />funds. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD BETWEEN <br />BARTLETT AND PARK LANE REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Marzy Bauer on behalf of the <br />YWCA of St. Joseph County, requested permission.to have <br />Lafayette Boulevard closed between Bartlett Street and Park <br />Lane for two (2) hours on Sunday, May 1, 1983 from 2-4 p.m. <br />The YWCA is sponsoring a Soccer Clinic at Leeper Park and <br />in the interest of safety is requesting that the street be <br />closed to protect the participants. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF PARKING RATE INCREASES - NATIONAL AUTOPARK, INC. <br />Mr. Leszczynski reminded the Board that in accordance with <br />the City's ordinance regulating Open Parking Lots, a notifica- <br />tion of a parking rate increase by the National Autopark, Inc. <br />was submitted as follows: <br />
