61 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 6, 1982 <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 28, 1982 - DISPOSE OF <br />OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT (POLICE` DEPARTMENT) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 28, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following equipment is no longer needed <br />by the Police Department of the City of South Bend: <br />Four (4) Overhead Light Bars - Federal <br />Twinsonic, Model 12 <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 186, Acts of 1967, of the Indiana <br />General Assembly, permits the sale of personal <br />property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that ,the above equipment <br />is no longer needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Police Department be <br />authorized to dispose of said equipment and remove same <br />from the City Inventory. <br />Dated: December 6, 1982 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Byers, Clerk <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the overhead light bars were over <br />15 years old and, although they were still in operating <br />condition, they have been replaced with newer equipment and <br />the department no longer has a need for them. Upon a notion <br />made by Mr..Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above Resolution No. 28, 1982, was adopted. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT'CONTRACTS AND ADDENDUM <br />Ms. Betsy Harriman of the Community Development staff submitted <br />the following Community Development contracts for Board approval: <br />REAL Services - operation of older adult crime victim <br />program at a budget not to exceed $2,946.00 <br />Community Coordinated Child Care - day care financial <br />subsidy at specified day care centers at a budget <br />not to exceed $12,_500.00 <br />Legal Services of Northern Indiana - provide legal <br />counseling and referral services at a budget not <br />to exceed $12,500.00 <br />Bureau of Housing - Addendum No. 1 - provides for an <br />increase of $5,000.00 to original contract to <br />cover appraisal costs which were not anticipated. <br />Ms. Harriman advised that all of the above contracts would <br />provide for continuing activities which were previously funded. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above contracts and addendum were approved. <br />REQUEST FOR ROAD RUN REFERRED SAINT JOSEPH'S <br />MEDICAL CENTER (WINTER CELEBRATION) <br />A request was received from Dean Reinke, Director of Sports <br />Medicine at Saint Joseph's Medical Center, for permission to <br />conduct a four -mile and a one and a half mile run in conjunction <br />with the Winter Celebration scheduled for February 6 and 7, 1983. <br />
