<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the following 1985 holiday schedule for City employees was
<br />approved•:

<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF
<br />ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement,
<br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately
<br />twenty-eight (28) abandoned vehicles, four (4) of which are valued
<br />at over $100.00 and all of which are being stored at South Bend
<br />Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was
<br />noted that all vehicles have been stored more than thirty (30)
<br />days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the
<br />owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request
<br />was approved and a date of December 31, 1984 was established for
<br />the receiving and opening of sealed bids.
<br />REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL "MARCH FOR LIFE"
<br />JANUARY 20, 1985 REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bernard J. O'Reilly, Grand Knight,
<br />Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council No. 553, 815 North
<br />Michigan Street, P.O. Box 774, South Bend, Indiana, requested
<br />permission to conduct the annual "March for Life" on Sunday,
<br />January 20, 1985 at 1:30 p.m. The route submitted with the request
<br />is as follows: Starting at the Knights of Columbus parking lot,
<br />west on Park Lane one block to Main Street; south on Main Street to
<br />Wayne Street; west on Wayne Street to Taylor Street with the march
<br />terminating at St. Patrick's Church, 309 South Taylor Street. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and
<br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and
<br />recommendation.
<br />AWARD PROPOSAL FOR PIGEON CONTROL - RIVER BEND PLAZA AND WESTERN
<br />AVENUE VIADUCT - CALENDAR YEAR 1985
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the Board of Public Works
<br />approval of November 13, 1984, proposals for the above referred to
<br />service were requested and received on December 3, 1984. After a
<br />review of the proposals received, it was determined that Absolute
<br />Pest & Termite Control, Inc., 2228 Lincolnway West, Mishawaka,
<br />Indiana, submitted the lowest proposal in the amount of $69.00 per
<br />month or $828.00 per year for calendar year 1985. Therefore, upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the proposal of Absolute Pest & Termite Control was accepted and
<br />approved.
<br />AWARD BID - TOWING AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director,
<br />Department of Code Enforcement, advised that after reviewing the
<br />bids received on December 3, 1984 for the towing and storage of
<br />abandoned vehicles, it has been determined that the contract for
