453 REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 10, 1984 towing and storage for 1985 should be awarded to Steve and Gene's; 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana, as follows: $550.00/month for the storage of vehicles 30.00/car for regular towing 35.00/car for towing a vehicle without wheels 5.00/car for the tow truck to go to an address and not tow the vehicle because it has been moved. Ms. Barnard advised that there will be a considerable savings of approximately $650.00 per month by going with the bid of Steve & Gene's. She further advised that South Bend Auto Parts bid $1.50 per day, per car for the storage of abandoned vehicles and Steve and Gene's was the only bid received that indicated a flat storage fee. As the bid of Steve and Gene's was the lowest and best bid, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the recommendation of Ms. Barnard was accepted and the bid awarded to Steve and Gene's. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the following five (5) handicapped parking permit applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controllerls office for issuance of permits: Col,. George Byers, 3104 Corby, S.B. Jill S. Burgeson, 53787 Needles Ct., Elkhart Theresa Hoppa, 718 S. Carlisle, S.B. Zerlina Hansman, 1321 Edgewood Dr., S.B. Geza Horvath, 1510 S. Catalpa, S.B. RELEASE AND APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that that Excavation Bond for Alex C. Niezgodski, Jr. through the Aetna Insurance Company be released effective December 31, 1984 and his Bond with Indiana Insurance Company be approved effective January 1, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Excavation Bond with Aetna Insurance was released and the new one with Indiana Insurance Company was approved. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of thirty-four (34) properties cleaned from December 3, 1984 to December 7, 1984 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report as submitted was filed. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: REVISE TO NO PARKING —East side of 500 N. Michigan north 1/2 block and meeting existing N.P. Zone. (Temporary annual winter parking removal). NEW INSTALLATION N/P/T/S - 300 LaMonte Terrace - South side. (Temporary annual winter parking removal). APPROVE CLAIMS City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 24083 through Claim Docket No. 24551 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed.
