453 <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 10, 1984 <br />towing and storage for 1985 should be awarded to Steve and Gene's; <br />3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />$550.00/month for the storage of vehicles <br />30.00/car for regular towing <br />35.00/car for towing a vehicle without wheels <br />5.00/car for the tow truck to go to an address and not <br />tow the vehicle because it has been moved. <br />Ms. Barnard advised that there will be a considerable savings of <br />approximately $650.00 per month by going with the bid of Steve & <br />Gene's. She further advised that South Bend Auto Parts bid $1.50 <br />per day, per car for the storage of abandoned vehicles and Steve <br />and Gene's was the only bid received that indicated a flat storage <br />fee. As the bid of Steve and Gene's was the lowest and best bid, <br />upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the recommendation of Ms. Barnard was accepted and the <br />bid awarded to Steve and Gene's. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following five (5) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controllerls <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Col,. George Byers, 3104 Corby, S.B. <br />Jill S. Burgeson, 53787 Needles Ct., Elkhart <br />Theresa Hoppa, 718 S. Carlisle, S.B. <br />Zerlina Hansman, 1321 Edgewood Dr., S.B. <br />Geza Horvath, 1510 S. Catalpa, S.B. <br />RELEASE AND APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that that <br />Excavation Bond for Alex C. Niezgodski, Jr. through the Aetna <br />Insurance Company be released effective December 31, 1984 and his <br />Bond with Indiana Insurance Company be approved effective January <br />1, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the Excavation Bond with Aetna Insurance was <br />released and the new one with Indiana Insurance Company was <br />approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of thirty-four (34) properties cleaned from December 3, 1984 <br />to December 7, 1984 was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />REVISE TO NO PARKING —East side of 500 N. Michigan <br />north 1/2 block and meeting existing N.P. Zone. <br />(Temporary annual winter parking removal). <br />NEW INSTALLATION N/P/T/S - 300 LaMonte Terrace - <br />South side. (Temporary annual winter parking <br />removal). <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 24083 <br />through Claim Docket No. 24551 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />claims were approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />
