REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 10, 1984 <br />451 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department for <br />review and recommendation. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 2992 - LANDMARK PARK <br />(BRICK -ROAD CURBS AND STREETS) <br />This was the date set for the public hearing for the purpose of <br />hearing and considering all remonstrances as to the amounts <br />assessed on Final Assessment Roll No. 2992 for the above referred <br />to project as authorized under Improvement Resolution No. 3521-84 <br />adopted by the Board on February 17, 1984. The Clerk tendered <br />proof of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. It was noted <br />that Final Assessment Roll No. 2992 was filed with the Board on <br />November 26, 1984. It was further noted that the total cost of <br />the Improvement as stated on the Final Assessment Roll is <br />$147,507.55 with the sole property owner, Northern Indiana <br />Development Partnership, being assessed $28,000.00, $77,998.45 <br />to be paid from a Project Future Grant, $41,498.02 to be paid by <br />the developer with the City paying no part of this project. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak against the amounts <br />assessed, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the public hearing on this matter was closed. <br />Further, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, Final Assessment Roll No. 2992 was approved <br />and referred to the County Treasurer's Office and the Barrett Law <br />Office for final processing. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 26-1984 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE <br />(POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley, advised <br />that damages recently incurred to Mechanical #725 of the Police <br />Department vehicle fleet exceeds the value of the unit. He <br />advised that this vehicle should be removed from the vehicle <br />inventory. The Department will keep the unit for the purpose of <br />salvageable parts. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following Resolution No. <br />26-1984 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 26, 1984 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of <br />Public Works that the following Police Department <br />vehicle is obsolete and deteriorated to the point <br />where repair costs would exceed its value: <br />Police Department - 1981 Chrysler LeBaron (#725) <br />Serial No. 2C3BM46F2BR152634 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the disposal <br />of personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the vehicle listed <br />above is obsolete and not needed by the City of South <br />Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle <br />Maintenance be authorized to dispose of said vehicle <br />and to remove same from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: December 10, 1984. <br />ATTEST: <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E.
