430 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 19, 1984 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO,ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS — THREE (3) <br />VEHICLES FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Timothy J. Brassell, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />the following vehicles for the Fire Department: <br />Two (2) 4-wheel drive utility vehicles for the <br />Riding Chiefs <br />One (1) 3/4 ton pick-up to be used by the Maintenance <br />Division <br />Chief Brassell indicated that funding for these vehicles will <br />come from within the Fire Department's budget with three (3) <br />vehicles being traded -in. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS: <br />1. WESTERN AVENUE PARKING LOT PROJECT <br />2. AIR CONDITIONING OF BUILDING - 2222 LINCOLNWAY WEST <br />(YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bids awarded <br />on November 13, 1984, to Geyer Construction and Development <br />Company, 67475 Kenilworth Road, Lakeville, Indiana, in the amount <br />of $44,988.50 for the Western Avenue Parking Lot Project and to <br />O.J. Shoemaker, Inc., 1008 Lincolnway East, South Bend, Indiana, <br />in the amount of $18,700.00 for the Air Conditioning of Building <br />- 2222 Lincolnway East (Youth Service Bureau) Project, Contracts <br />in said amounts were being submitted for Board approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the Contracts were approved subject to the filing of the <br />appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials <br />Payment Bond. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUM <br />The following Community Development addendum was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ADDENDUM I <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />HANDICAPPED ACCESS CURB CUTS <br />Addendum I indicates a change in Allowable Costs which <br />further clarifies budget categories as described in <br />Appendix I. The total cost of this activity shall not <br />exceed $80,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Addendum was approved and executed. <br />AWARD BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES, INCLUDING PEST AND RODENT <br />CONTROL AT POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THREE (3) POLICE SUBSTATIONS <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Charles T. Hurley, advised <br />that it is the recommendation of the Police Department that the <br />low bid of Absolute Pest & Termite Control, Inc., 2228 Lincolnway <br />West, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $672.00 per year or <br />$56.00 per month for rodent and pest control and the low bid of <br />Maintenance Systems Corporation, 203 East Mishawaka Avenue, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $16,800.00 per year for <br />janitorial services be awarded. It was noted that bids for these <br />services were opened by the Board on November 5, 1984. Services <br />Division Chief Ronald Marciniak was present and advised that <br />Absolute Pest Control has held the contract for pest and rodent <br />control services in the past and the Department has been <br />I <br />1 <br />
