426 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 13,.19.84 <br />APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />AT 606 CARROLL STREET <br />In accordance with the bid awarded on July 18, 1983, for the <br />purchase of the City -owned lot at 606 Carroll Street in the <br />amount of $220.00 to Mr. Marion Treat, 612 South Carroll Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, the Purchase Agreement for the property was <br />being submitted at this time for Board approval. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />Purchase Agreement was approved and the matter referred to the <br />City Attorney's office for drafting of the appropriate Quit - <br />Claim Deed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO SEEK PROPOSALS FOR PIGEON CONTROL - <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA AND WESTERN AVENUE VIADUCT <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Sandra M. Parmerlee, Clerk, requested <br />permission to seek proposals for pigeon control services for <br />calendar year 1985 for River Bend Plaza and the Western Avenue <br />Viaduct. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS - <br />TOWING AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, advised that currently the <br />Department of Code Enforcement has a contract with South Bend <br />Auto Parts for the towing and storage of abandoned vehicles for <br />the City. That contract expires December 31, 1984 and she is <br />requesting that the Board advertise for the receipt of proposals <br />for this service for calendar 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried,the above request <br />was approved. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - RESIDUE PROPERTY AT <br />THE SOUTH EAST CORNER OF LELAND AND MARION STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ronald E. Gordon, owner of The <br />Light Owl, 529 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, indicated <br />that he owns Lot 26 and part of Lot 25 on Lincolnway West adjacent <br />to the residue property at the south east corner of Leland and <br />Marion, Lots 27 and 28 of Hendricks and Grant Additions (City <br />Deed Nos. 342 and 394). Mr. Gordon indicated that.he is interested <br />in purchasing these residue properties in order to allow him to <br />use them for parking for his business. He indicated that he does <br />not plan to pave them, just maintain them the way they are with <br />the exception of planting some shrubs and greenery. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />above request was referred to the necessary City departments and <br />bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need <br />retain the above referred to property for any reason. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following six (6) traffic control devices were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION STOP SIGN - On Brownie @ Rexford. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />NEW INSTALLATION STOP SIGN - On Brunette @ Rexford. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />NEW INSTALLATION STOP SIGN - On Buetter @ Rexford. <br />(Uncontrolled "T"). <br />REVISE STOP SIGN 1-WAY (ON LIBERTY) - On Sample at Liberty. <br />(Completion of Olive & Sample Overpass). <br />L] <br />1 <br />
