427 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 13, 1984 <br />REMOVE HANDICAP - 729 E. Dubail (Resident Moved). <br />REVISE TO 1 HOUR PARKING 6A - 6P - 337-339-343 L.W.W. <br />(Hobby Land - Beaux - Art Beauty Salon). <br />Requested by business to promote curb space turnover. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS ON BEHALF OF KNIGHTS <br />OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT SOLICITATIONS - NOVEMBER 21-25. 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, and the Police Department <br />Traffic Division have reviewed the request of the Big Brothers/ <br />Big Sisters on behalf of the Knights .of .Columbus to conduct <br />solicitations, said request -submitted to the Board on November <br />5, 1984, and recommend approval of the request as submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the above recommendation was.accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the following two (2) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Ellis Ross, 1025 DeMaude, S.B. <br />John E. Hamilton, 526 E. Calvert, S.B. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that <br />the Contractor's Bond for MUTA Construction Company, Inc., be <br />released effective November 13, 1984. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski,.seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />referred to Contractor's Bond was released. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, P.E., Engineering Department, recommended <br />that the Excavation Bond for Eagle Excavating, Inc., be approved <br />retroactive to November 5, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />referred to Excavation Bond was approved. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of thirty-five (35) properties cleaned from November 5, <br />1984 to November 9, 1984 was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />report as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The report submitted to the Board indicated a total of ninety- <br />one (91) street light outages reported during the month of <br />October. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Vance and carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT OCTOBER <br />The Humane Society report for the month of October indicated <br />the following matters handled for the City of South Bend: <br />DOGS HANDLED: 262 <br />CATS HANDLED: 215 <br />OTHER ANIMALS HANDLED: 38 <br />BITE CASES HANDLED: 12 <br />COMPLAINTS HANDLED: 217 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the above report as submitted was accepted and filed. <br />
