<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT -
<br />MONROE PARK PHASE VII PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau
<br />of Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the.
<br />low bid of Country Garden, Inc., d/b/a Country Garden Landscape,
<br />62971 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$19,034.40. It was noted that bids for this project were
<br />opened by the Board on October 15, 1914, Mr. Leszczynski
<br />further advised that in accordance with the award of this bid,
<br />a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the above bid was awarded and the Contract approved,
<br />and the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and
<br />Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - RE -ROOFING
<br />OF BUILDING - 521 ECLIPSE PLACE (BUREAU OF HOUSING)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau
<br />of Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the
<br />low bid of Slatile Roofing and Sheet Metal, 1703 South Ironwood
<br />Drive, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $24,700.00. It was
<br />noted that bids for this project were opened by the Board on
<br />October 15, 1984. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that in
<br />accordance with the award of this bid, a Contract in said amount
<br />was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />bid was awarded and the Contract approved, subject to the filing
<br />of the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and
<br />Materials Payment Bond.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - CLEANING AND PAINTING.
<br />OF THE WESTERN/WALNUT VIADUCT PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded
<br />on September 17, 1984, to J.L. Manta, Inc.,'7757 South Chicago
<br />Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, in the amount of $23,590.00 for the
<br />above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being
<br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Contract
<br />was approved and the appropriate Insurance, Performance Bond
<br />and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />FILING OF NOTIFICATION RE: MOTORCADE TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE ST.
<br />JOSEPH COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE - OCTOBER 29, 1984
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. C.J. "Casey" Paj-akowski, Chairman,
<br />St. Joseph County Democratic Central Committee, P.O. Box 1375,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that the Committee will be con-
<br />ducting a motorcade on Monday, October 29, 1984, over the
<br />following South Bend City streets - Cleveland Road, west from
<br />the St. Joseph River to Bendix Drive, Bendix Drive south to
<br />Lincolnway West, Lincolnway West to the City limits. Board
<br />members determined that since all traffic regulations would
<br />be obeyed and no police escort would be required, this matter
<br />did not require Board approval. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />information as submitted was accepted for filing.
<br />"APPROVE BLOCK.PARTY REQUEST MANITOU PLACE (OCTOBER 28, 1984)
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Margaret Moody, Block Party Co -
<br />Chairman, 727 Forest Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised that
<br />the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association Block Party scheduled
<br />for anal approved by the Board of Public Works for October 7, 1984,
<br />was rained out. Therefore, they are requesting that Manitou
<br />Place be blocked off on Sunday, October 28, 1984, from 5:00 p.m.
<br />to 7:00 p.m. for the neighborhood block party. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the
<br />above request was approved subject to favorable recommendations
<br />being received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the
<br />Police Department Traffic Division concerning this request.
