374 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 17. 1984 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, <br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />ten (10) abandoned vehicles, three (3) of which are valued at <br />over $100.00 and all of which are being stored at South. Bend <br />Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It <br />was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than the <br />thirty (30) days, identification checks had been run for auto <br />theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the. <br />request was approved and a date of October 1, 1984 was established <br />for the receiving of sealed bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF MICHIANA, INC. ON <br />BEHALF OF THE SHAMROCK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT. <br />NORTHEAST FALL FESTIVAL - SEPTEMBER 23, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the request submitted to the Board on <br />September 10, 1984, by Goodwill Industries of Michiana, Inc, on <br />behalf of the Shamrock -Business Association to conduct the Northwest <br />Fall Festival on September 23, 1984, has been reviewed by the City <br />Attorney's office and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. It is <br />their recommendation that the request be approved subject to the <br />Open Air Stand required for this event receiving favorable recom— <br />mendations from the Police Department and the Department of Code <br />Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and <br />the request and Open Air Stand license application approved subject <br />to the above stipulations. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - CHAPIN STREET CURBS AND SIDEWALK REPAIR PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred <br />to project was being presented at this time for execution. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, <br />the above referred to Title.Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Excavation Bond for Hamstra Builders, Inc. be approved retroactive <br />to September 12, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendation was <br />accepted and the Excavation Bond approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Ralphael Sanchez be approved retroactive to <br />September 10, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and <br />the Contractor's Bond approved. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Dobbin Industrial Construction Company be <br />released effective September 17, 1984. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above recom- <br />mendation was accepted and the Contractor's Bond released. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMIT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following one (1) handicapped parking permit applica- <br />tion was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office <br />for issuance of a permit: <br />Anna M.
