375 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 17, 1984 <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - AUGUST <br />The Humane Society Report for the month of August indicated the <br />following matters handled for the City of South Bend: <br />DOGS HANDLED: 276 <br />CATS HANDLED: 249 <br />OTHER ANIMALS HANDLED: 80 <br />BITE CASES HANDLED: 20 <br />COMPLAINTS HANDLED: 254 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above report as submitted was accepted and filed. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of ninety-nine (99) properties cleaned from September 10, <br />1984 to September 14, 1984 was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report <br />as submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND, <br />Mr.. Leszczynski advised that the following license application has <br />been received: <br />NAME: Dell's Bar-B-Que <br />BY: Dell Owens <br />ADDRESS: 525 Eddv Street <br />STAND TO BE LOCATED AT: Goodwill Plaza Parking Lot <br />(south side) <br />DATES: 9/22&23, 10/60, 10/13&14, 10/20&21 and 11/17&18 <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Bar-B-Que sandwiches <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that a favorable recommendation on this <br />application has been received from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting but the recommendations from the Police Department and <br />Department of Code Enforcement are not yet available. It was <br />noted that attached to the application was a letter from Goodwill <br />Industries, of Michiana, Inc, indicating that Dell Ownes is <br />renting space from them and therefore has permission to be.. <br />located at the above referred to location. <br />As recommendations from the Department of Code Enforcement and <br />the Police Department are not yet available and the first date <br />Mr. Owen desires to operate his stand is before the next regular <br />meeting of the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application <br />was approved subject to the Clerk of the Board receiving <br />favorable recommendations from the above two departments con- <br />cerning this application. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Executive Director, St. Joseph County <br />Job Training Program, submitted two (2) lists containing eighty <br />(80) claims and recommended approval. Additionally, City <br />Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 17562 <br />through Claim Docket No. 17867 and recommended approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the claims were approved and the reports filed. <br />
