372 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 17, 1984 <br />3. Identifies the various neighborhood and citizen <br />groups .within the City concerned with housing <br />discrimination and assists them in their efforts <br />to promote fair housing. <br />4. Assists various local, state and federal govern- <br />mental agencies in the overall task of providing <br />equal opportunity in housing. <br />5. Performs intake, investigation and resolution of <br />housing discrimination charges that come before <br />the Human Rights.Commission. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $5,888.00 for <br />personnel costs. <br />COMMUNITY COORDINATED CHILD CARE <br />DAY CARE STIPEND ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for the Day Care Stipend Activity is to provide <br />732 child days of service and enable a full complement of staff <br />to remain employed at the designated centers. The total cost of <br />this activity shall not exceed $10,400.00. <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />EAST BANK DEVELOPMENT AREA PUBLIC WORKS ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goals for this activity are: replacement and repair <br />of curbs and sidewalks on Colfax Street from the bridge east as <br />needed; and replacement of curbs and sidewalks on LaSalle Street <br />from Niles 'to Hill Streets. Projections are to provide 4-5 <br />short-term jobs for a period of 3-4 weeks. The total cost of <br />this activity shall not exceed $40,000.00. <br />YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU <br />YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to repair/replace the <br />heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at the YSB <br />office. Projections are to provide 2-3 short-term jobs for <br />a period of 3 weeks. The total cost of this activity shall <br />not exceed $15,000.00. <br />ADDENDUM I <br />NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />DEMOLITION PROGRAM <br />Addendum I provides for an additional amount of $17,000.00 <br />to be added to the original budget amount, with the total <br />cost of this activity not exceeding $57,000.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above contracts and addendum were approved and executed. <br />APPROVE LAND CONTRACT - SOUTH SECTOR POLICE SUBSTATION <br />(1716 SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET) <br />Mr. Hill advised that the Land Contract submitted to the Board <br />today for approval is for the real estate commonly known as 1716 <br />South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, said real estate <br />currently being the location of the South Sector Police Sub- <br />station. The Land Contract indicates that the purchase price <br />for the real estate and improvements thereon shall be $65,722.00 <br />to be paid in two (2) equal installments of $32,886.00, without <br />interest, the first payment being due within ten (10) days after <br />the execution of the contract and the second installment being due <br />on April 1, 1985. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by <br />Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Land Contract was approved and <br />executed. <br />
