332 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 20, 1984 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Department of Code <br />Enforcement for immediate review and recommendation in order <br />that an award could be made prior to the adjournment of the <br />meeting. JOSEPH STREET, 520 1/2 <br />NORTH CUSHING STREET, 423 SOUTH HARRIS STREET AND 615 NORTH FRANCES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids for the sale of City -owned property at <br />1811 Florence Avenue, 1510 South St. Joseph Street, 520 1/2 North <br />Cushing Street, 423 South Harris Street and 615 North Frances Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were received: <br />1811 FLORENCE AVENUE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that one bid has been received from <br />Mr. David L. Sypniewski., 1801 Florence Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $200.00. It was noted that the <br />property has an appraisal value of $215.00. <br />Mr. Vance advised that Mr. Sypniewski is an employee of <br />the City and inquired of Attorney Thomas Bodnar if a <br />conflict exists by Mr. Sypniewski submitting a bid. Mr. <br />Bodnar advised that no conflict exists. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the offer of $200.00 for the property at 1811 <br />Florence Avenue was accepted and the matter referred to the <br />City Attorney's office for the drafting of the appropriate <br />Purchase Agreement. Mr. Vance abstained from voting on <br />this matter. <br />
