327 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST:13, 1984 <br />Eslinger Furniture provided with his request a letter certifying <br />as to Flame Retardancy of the tent and a site plan. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above request was approved subject to Eslinger's <br />securing the necessary Building Permit and subject to their <br />providing to the Board of Public Works a Certificate of <br />Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 liability naming <br />the City of South Bend as an additional insured for this event. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF WXMG "MAGIC WALK" FOR ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S <br />RESEARCH HOSPITAL TO CONDUCT 6.5 MILE WALK - 'SEPTEMBER 29, 1984 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, and Captain Edward Friend, <br />Police Department Traffic Division, have reviewed the request <br />of Ms. Annemarie Yanko, Volunteer Chairperson, WXMG "Magic <br />Walk" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, submitted <br />to the Board on July 30, 1984, and recommend approval. Mr. <br />Wadzinski advised that the walkers are to use the sidewalks/ <br />berms of the road only. Walkers are not to use the road to <br />walk the distance and they must obey all traffic and pedestrian <br />laws. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the above recommendation.was accepted and <br />the request approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - PROJECT DRIVE - PART ONE - N.W. SUBDIVISION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />private project was being presented at this time for Board <br />approval. He further advised that this project will take. <br />place near the bypass and Brick Road with the total cost <br />assumed by the developer and subsequent dedication. to the <br />City. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Vance and carried, the above Title Sheet was approved <br />and signed. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance <br />and carried, the following four (4) handicapped parking permit <br />applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance of permits: <br />Lorene Swoda, 1002 Emerson, South Bend <br />Dorothy Jean Weimer, 820 L.W.W., Apt. 109,.Mish. <br />Karl Gocza, 1201 Van Buren, S.B. <br />Ella Mary Brinkman, 1921 S. Ironwood, S.B. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BONDS <br />Mr. Melvin B. Humphrey, Engineering Department,' recommended <br />that the Contractor's Bond for Larry Suetkamp, d/b/a Suetkamp <br />Construction be approved retroactive to August 8, 1984. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above Contractor's Bond was approved. <br />APPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating <br />a total of one -hundred -fifty (150) properties cleaned from <br />August 6, 1984 to August 10, 1984, was submitted. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />
