<br />It was noted that Hi -Speed Auto offers services at two (2) locations,
<br />609 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana and 2615 L.W.W., Mishawaka,
<br />Indiana, for full service or wet wash and also offers a wet wash
<br />only at 1334 Chimes Blvd., South Bend, Indiana. As in the past,
<br />all three (3) locations will be utilized. It was noted that bids
<br />for these services were opened by the Board on July 30, 1984.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski., seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the above recommendation was accepted, the bids awarded,
<br />and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office for the
<br />preparation of the appropriate contracts.
<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT -
<br />SOUTH BEND AVENUE (NHS) PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau
<br />of Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the
<br />low bid of LaFree Excavating, Inc., 11252 West Third Street,
<br />Osceola, Indiana, in the amount of $56,209.00 for the above
<br />referred to project. It was noted that bids for this project
<br />were opened by the Board on August 6, 1984. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />further advised that in accordance with the award of this bid,
<br />a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the above bid was awarded and the Contract approved.
<br />Accordingly, the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond and
<br />Labor and Materials Payment Bond submitted by LaFree Excavating
<br />were filed.
<br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUM
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the following Community Development Addendum presented
<br />to the Board was approved and executed:
<br />ADDENDUM I
<br />SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COKMISSION
<br />HUMAN RIGHTS RESEARCH PROJECT
<br />Addendum I indicates that the Timetable category
<br />shall be revised as follows:
<br />Activity shall commence on April 1, 1984 and
<br />shall continue to and include December 31, 1984.
<br />APPROVE EASEMENT - AIRCO INDUSTRIAL GASES. INC.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board an Easement whereby the
<br />City of South Bend grants to AIRCO Industrial Gases, Inc., a
<br />permanent four foot (4') easement on the north side of the right-of-
<br />way of Calvert Street west of Maple Road to the AIRCO site.,. for the
<br />:purpose of installing, maintaining and repairing electrical lines
<br />in, upon and along and over a strip of land in St. Joseph County,
<br />Indiana, more specifically described in the legal description
<br />contained in the Easement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above Easement was
<br />approved and executed.
