Pluta, P.E., Director, Division of Engineering, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for <br />the following two (2) projects: <br />1. EAST BANK DEVELOPMENT PHASE II PROJECT <br />2. CLEANING AND PAINTING OF THE WESTERN/WALNUT VIADUCT PROJECT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Department of Code Enforce- <br />ment, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />twenty (20) abandoned vehicles, five (5) of which are valued at <br />over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and all of which.are being stored <br />at South Bend Auto Parts, 1802 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. <br />It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than the thirty <br />(30) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft, and <br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the request was <br />approved, and a date of August 20, 1984, was established for the <br />receiving of sealed bids. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1002 <br />WEST LA SALLE STREET REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert M. Stevens, 51825 Chestnut <br />Road, Granger, Indiana, indicated that as the owner of 938 West <br />LaSalle Street, he is interested in purchasing a lot adjacent to <br />that property at 1002 West LaSalle Street. He further indicated <br />that 938 West LaSalle Street is soon to be his home and he would <br />like the property adjacent for a garden and off-street parking. <br />Uponmotion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />.a <br />carried, the above request was referred to the necessary City <br />departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether or <br />not the City retain the lot for any reason. <br />
