<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SAINT JOSEPH'S MEDICAL CENTER TO INSTALL
<br />SIGNAGE AT THE CORNER OF LA SALLE & ST. LOURS STREETS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the City Attorney's office, Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting, Police Department Traffic Division and
<br />the Building Department have reviewed the request of the St.
<br />Joseph's Medical Center to install signage at the corner of
<br />LaSalle and St. Louis Streets, said request and appropriate
<br />site plans submitted to the Board on July 16, 1984, and recommends
<br />approval at this time, subject to the Medical Center complying
<br />with the necessary Building Department, Traffic and Lighting
<br />and insurance requirements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendations were
<br />accepted and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE A PORTION OF THE NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN
<br />FREDERICKSON & WESTMORE. STREETS FOR AUCTION - JULY 28, 1984'
<br />In a letter to the Board, Paul and Loretta Duda, 6223 Exeter
<br />Court, South Bend, Indiana, requested that a portion of the
<br />north/south alley between Westmore and Frederickson Streets be
<br />closed on July 28, 1984, between the hours of 9:00 a.m, and
<br />6:00 p.m, during which time a public auction for Anna and Paul
<br />Duda will be held at 2630 Frederickson Street. The alley closure
<br />is being requested in order to insure the safety of individuals
<br />attending the auction. Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr., Ralph J.
<br />Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed
<br />this request and recommends approval. It was noted that barricades
<br />will be delivered by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the
<br />Petitioner will be responsible for setting them in place and
<br />removing them when the auction is finished. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF INDIA14A HEALTH CENTERS, INC. TO CLOSE A
<br />PORTION OF WALNUT STREET FOR OPEN HOUSE - AUGUST 19, 1984
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of
<br />Indiana Health Centers, Inc. South Bend Community Health Center
<br />to close Walnut Street from Western Avenue south to Huron Street
<br />on Sunday, August 19, 1984 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a
<br />"Year of the Migrant Child" open house, said original request
<br />submitted to the Board on April 23, 1984, and recommends approval.
<br />Approval was recommended subject to the maintenance of a ten (10)
<br />foot clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. It was
<br />noted that the Petitioner will be responsible for the setting in
<br />place and removal of the barricades with the Bureau of Traffic
<br />and Lighting providing instructions for the proper placement of
<br />the barricades. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was accepted
<br />and the request approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF GRACE A.M.E. ZION CHURCH TO CLOSE A PORTION
<br />OF VASSAR STREET FOR PARISH PIG ROAST - JULY 28. 1984
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,
<br />Bureau of.Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of
<br />the Grace A.M.E. Zion Church to close a portion of Vassar Street
<br />on Saturday, July 28, 1984 from 10:00 a.m, to 8:00 p.m. for a
<br />"Pig Roast" and fun fair, said request submitted to the Board
<br />on July 16, 1984, and recommends approval subject to the
<br />maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and unobstructed lane
<br />for emergency purposes. It was noted that the Petitioner will
<br />be responsible for the setting in place and removal of the
<br />barricades and for the placement and removal of a "Street Closed
<br />Ahead" sign on Vassar at Cleveland, said barricades and signage
<br />to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the above recommendation was accepted and the request approved.
